Microsoft Visual C Studio 2008 Won't Install!!!

I am running a PC with windows vista(32 bit). i have tried to install Microsoft Visual C Studio 2008 numerous times and every time it come up with an error saying it cannot install a bunch of files then it asks to make a shortcut to install the missing files later and i try the shortcut and it doesn't help, i have ran the program and shortcut as admin and it doesn't seem to help. if anyone can help please leave a comment or if you have another program that does the same. i need this program to put games and other apps onto my V2 Zune 4Gb.

I have the same problem as well on my brother's Vista x64 SP1. My PC with XP is out of commission due to needing a new monitor, but anyway, Visual 2008 installed no problem on XP Home SP3. Don't know what to tell you, hope someone here knows the solution.

I've determined the cause of this problem though. .net framework 3.5 SP1 will not install correctly. The install crashes while trying to install it. I have tried a number of things to get a fix. I've tried installing .net framework 3.5 beforehand and theres no luck with that. I mean, it 3.5 installs, but when I try to install 3.5 SP1, it still crashes. I've tried installing 3.5 SP1 separately, and no luck with that as well. Crashes just the same.

Anyone think they've got a fix for this issue?
