Error when i click on .sln file

Ok, i downloaded everything, the game i downloaded was AlienGame supposedly one of the first official games. So i start by clicking on the aliengame sample folder. If i try to extract that all it does is bring up the same thing.
I click on it,and it shows three things. I click on the alien game folder and a bunch of stuff comes up, including the .sln file. When i click on it this is what i get:

One or more projects in the solution could not be loaded for the following reasons: The project file or web has been moved, renamed or is not on your computer. These projects will be labeled as unavailable in Solution Explorer. Expand the project Node to show the reason the project could not be loaded.

It does the same thing for the minesweeper game i tried to download. Ive already re-downloaded xna and vision and everything took hours and still the same $%#@. Please help me. Its now 6:10 a.m and this is driving me crazy. If you know whats wrong, could you please give me specific step by step instructions THANK YOU

You have to extract the files somewhere first, rather than running them straight out of the .zip file.

i have the same issue but i can't figure out how to extract them.

I assume you don't have winzip or an equilvalent, which means you're using the default windows version. Basically, from the view where you see the .sln file, select all of the files/folders you see, copy them, go to My Documents or Documents depending on your OS, make a new folder and call it whatever you want, then go into that folder and paste the files.

THEN double click the sln file
