Try extracting the files to a folder near the root of the drive, like c:\xnagames. Make sure the name only has letters in it. That shouldn't ordinarily be necessary, but it might fix the error you're getting.

I don't know if you've figured this out yet, but if you haven't, you might want to try using RIG (link in sig).

zune solitare works but it says it needs to deploy the runtime for groove 1.2... what does it mean?

Download RIGOR from the RIG website and run it first.

It should have deployed the runtime. Once you've deployed RIGOR, you should be able to deploy Zune Solitaire.

Yeah, with the RIG Development Kit. However, be sure to read the documentation carefully, as not reading it could lead to various cryptic errors.

I had to take RIGOR down for legal reasons. Try rebooting your Zune (back+up), then the moment it starts rebooting press and hold back+left+center (to wipe it). Then connect it, install the firmware/name it/etc. with the Zune software, and deploy a game using the XNA Game Studio software. Once you have done this you should be able to use RIG.

The already-compiled RIG files are in the bin directory. The doc directory contains all the info you need to put your package together. Since I assume you aren't planning on distributing your packages, you can skip the SFX-building step and just run rigdp.exe.
