PityOnU, thanks for the hard work...I've been hoping for the WMP sync since I got my Zune 5 months ago and heard rumblings then.
After a couple of tries, I got it to sync with WMP, but noticed that after you "unlock" through task manager, the screen on the Zune should still say "syncing"...then go to WMP and do your thing.
My first go around was just a blank screen (didn't say connected or syncing), then when I tried to re-open in Zune it said no device...I kinda freaked, then remembered I had to open zAlternator and change the player back to Zune from WMP. Went through the process again and synced a video, unlocked and it worked.
Now if only someone could get a workaround for DRM I could take 100% full advantage of my Yahoo Music Subscription

Thanks for the comment kingazoid. Here's my question: is the Yahoo music subscription like the Zune marketplace in WMP or is it its own program?
Basically, what I'm trying to find out is, is it the DRM in the song files that are stopping you from syncing it, or the limitations of thw WMP program?
This is my status.
First i started the zalternator. Set both settings to default.
Then i started the zune software dragged a video and then killed the Zune.exe process as it was syncing.
The zune screen says it is syncing.
I then opened zalternator and changed the service provider setting to GEneric WPD. I go to click apply but it reverts back to zune(default). I go to open media monkey and the zune stuff is not there. Please Help
none of this works..i can get it to show my Zune under Media Monkey.WMP11 and when it says sync the music wont show on my device....meaning its not working...
nvm
EDIT:WMP works u MUST sync a video to get it to fully unlock
EDIT:WMP works u MUST sync a video to get it to fully unlock
I've tried syncing a couple of large videos and it says "syncing"...I kill the zune process and the zune goes from syncing to "connected". It will not stay on syncing like most people are seeing. Ive tried this multiple times...same result every time. Any suggestions?
OK I have a couple of questions. This is a great start, by the way, and I appreciate the work that went into it!
First, will the 'Syncing' screen/animation always be displayed while using another sync program (in my case WMP11)? Or will it ever revert to just 'connected'?
Second, my first trial sync with WMP11 went fine but then I decided to see if WMP would recognize files already on the device. So I synced an album that was already on the Zune (Z30 btw) but WMP just acted as if it was a new sync and created a new copy on the device. Is this to be expected or am I doing something wrong. Will I have to wipe everything off of the Zune and re-sync it using WMP11 to cure this?
Thanks again! I assume I'll have some more questions.
Also i tried (only once) to convert an avi to my zune through WMP11, but it didn't work, i would greatly appreciate if this would be a part of the program, or more realistically a patch for WMP11.
i normally use a converter to convert the movies to wmv, but taking steps out of my work is always nice.

Did you buy them from the itunes store? If so, you cannot as they have DRM. If they were not purchased, you must either convert them first(Zune 4/8/30) or if you have a Zune 80, it will accept NON DRM'd .mp4s.
I am not sure about the speed.

No I did not buy them from Itunes. Also I wanna know which is better with Zune Wmv or Mp4? I use tv out on my zunes for videos. And I convert my videos to highest mp4 quality I can get it. Which is usually 1gb. Is wmv better to convert for tv out or should i stay with mp4?

well if you're playing them from your zune, then it doesn't matter because they are all converted into wmv. if it's from your computer then idk. i would guess mp4 would have a little better quality, but you're not going to notice a difference, just use the original file because converting just makes the quality worse.

It should continue to display "Syncing"
As for WMP, you'll probably have to wipe your device. WMP probably doesn't know how to handle the file structure of the Zune or something along those lines

My Zune is now showing up in my WMP, which is pretty cool (I've had my fair share of Zune problems), but it won't let me sync any of the files. I get one of those C00D11D2 errors, and a window pops up that says "Windows Media Player cannot access the file. The file might be in use, you might not have access to the computer where the file is stored, or your proxy settings might not be correct"
