I take it nobody's figured out a way to permanently unlock your Zune? (Sorry if this has been addressed - there was a lot of stuff to read through before my post)
As of now, zAlternator is barely done, so therefore, you have to unlock it each time you use it after a restart.
Hopefully, when the final version comes out it will make it so it's permanently unlocked
What makes everyone think this isn't a final release?
As far as I know, I think Pity's just going to release a new version with iTunes support at a later date.

Ah well I guess I'll sit, wait and keep my fingers crossed for now. I have been trying to fiddle around with settings myself to keep it unlocked (like killing WMP11 instead of closing it, fiddling with some registry settings, etc.), but to no avail.
When I try running the zalternator, it comes up with an error saying No zune device is detected on this system, and my zune is installed and working with the zune software.

thanks for the work on zAlternator but i have a quick problem..
i downloaded it and i pressed sync in my zune software and ended the Zune.exe process to where the zune program was no longer open but Syncing... was displayed on my zune then i changed it to Generic WPD and i opened up winamp 5.52 and it listed my zune under portable devices but it said Loading... next to it and stayed like that forever..
How do you change the Zune back to working with the Zune program? I can't sync with any other programs, and I can't unlock the Zune again after I changed it to general WPD, so how do I unlock it again and change it back to the default?
You don't have to unlock it to switch back to Zune. You don't even have to have your Zune connected to switch back to Zune. Should just be able to do it normally

Actually I think you have to restart your PC to do that.
ok, i do it right and i get it to sync with wmp11, but when i disconnect and reconnect my zune, it wont work anymore...is this supposed to happen? if so its not worth it having to do the hack everytime....although i liked the sync the 1 time it worked...
