You just copied the video directly onto the Zune in Windows Explorer using the HD hack? If that is so, you can't do that and expect the Zune to play it. It doesn't know that it is there. To be able to play media on your Zune, it has to be added via the Zune software, because it adds entries to the Zune's database so that the Zune knows that it has something that it can play and important information about that something that the Zune needs to know.

The HD hack works (sort of) for me. I can copy anything from the Zune, however, it doesn't let me copy anything to the Zune. I have to have the Zune "unlocked" via the AutoUnlocker or done the manual way each time I want to copy things to the Zune, right? I know that answer is probably answered in a previous post, but a simple yes or no will do. Thanks.

that doesnt really explina my problem, because i can add files to the zune by dragging it in, and i CAN play it. It is just that when i select the video from the list in my zune, there is no thumbnail or title , its just blank.

Like I said, the information for the video is not in the Zune's database. It probably does not know where the thumbnail is for it.

Has anyone found a way to have permission to get files onto the zune as a hard drive without having to sync?
My zune media player wont open, let alone sync and I want to get all my music onto my zune before my computer crashes, I have a feeling that will soon happen.

I have read almost every post in this thread and still cant get the HD patch to work.

I have:
8GB Zune V 2.5
.net framework 3.5
Vista 32bit OS
All the latest patches...

I keep getting Patch failed!

What am i doing wrong?
