While the Zune probably has the power to run these apps, we are not allowed to access enough of it in any case as XNA is restrictive and getting more restrictive with each release. It's a nice thought, but we can't run anything more powerful than an Atari on the Zune without horrendously slow framerate. On the slightly off-topic up-side, I'd love an Atari emulator on my Zune.

OMFG its been requested 30 times! let me break it down you need ten dollars to buy some candy and your mom gives you 1 dollar YOU CAN"T BUY CANDY, OR IN THIS CASE A GB OR GBA EMULATOR!
the zu7ne has 16 MB of ram XNA allows us access to only 1 of them.... 1 megabyte cannot run an emulator, it xcan run indevidualy coded games like the pokemon game i am working on but not an emulator

actually, i'm pretty sure we can only access 16mb out of whatever. Having 1 mb of RAM would make some of the things we have now pretty much un-doable (like DinoGames stuff).

Thet would be correct, 16 MB is the limit. I think there's 64 MB of physical memory, but I may be wrong on that. Regardless, it's a pretty small portion, and Dirk's already run into space problems with Valgard's Fate.

That would be an awesome idea! Then I can have my Atari to go!
I'm going to dig mine out of the attic and play it now.

y r u qouting?
Anyways let me get this straight: The Zune has 64mbs of physical memory, but XNA only allows access to 1? I'm confused. It takes more than one megabyte to run a game like that, I know that much.

The Zune has 64 MB of RAM. We can use 16 MB of its RAM with XNA. Locke is correct.
Most emulators are currently impractical for the Zune.
