Live a good life. If there are gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. If there are gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones.

Us Windows users enjoy iPods too ya know: p. And its really not too different then Xbox Live making users pay $50 a year to play the games they bought online with friends etc.. I actually just decided to go to 2.0 since no new Apps were being released for Jailbroken Touches/iPhones. But I did a quick Google search first and its very easy to get the 2.0 upgrade for free. Saved myself $10, Not bad... Its still ****ed up that Touch owners are expected to pay $ when the iPhone users just get it for Free, But after playing with it for a while and enjoying lots of the apps, I would put out the $10 if I needed to. Its like the jump from Vista Basic to Vista Premium.

1. We're not paying for updates like Mac users are
2. Yes, I probably figured there was a free way around it, but still, it sucks.

Everything in 2.0 was an Optional "Upgrade" such as Exchange support and the App Store. Updates - Such as Bug fixes are/we included free in a 1.1.5 update.
the iPod touch update is not necessary, it's an add-on that some people chose to add functionality to their device. The new iPod Touch already contains the update, so this is just for people who have the old one and are yet to buy it. I paid for it straightaway, and wasn't even billed for whatever reason. The iPod Touch is still relatively new territory for an MP3 device, and Apple is not the only company that charges for updates. Once you have an update in the 2.* range, you get the subsequent ones free, it's like if you owned a copy of Windows XP, micro$oft wouldn't upgrade (if you dare to call it an upgrade) you to vista for free; you can, however, download the service packs for free.

Vista is an whole new OS... Is the iPhone 2.1 update a new OS? I doubt it. It is probably more like a Service Pack.

The 2.0 firmware was completly new, it actually changed quite a few things internally, thats where the analogy came from. I paid for my 2.0 update, and get 2.1 free. Also; it's only 10 dollars, which is completely reasonable for the amount of free applications it gives me access to (Jailbroken apps died off)
Crap like that is why I came over to the Zune because microsoft is supporting its users far better and seems more geniune as far as care for their customers.
Lets add:
- 2007 iPods blew, both the nano/classic took over 4 months to get fixed from major flaws such as interface lag, unable to keep ratings on songs, unable to sync play counts, unable to live update smart playlists, HORRIBLE sync times. I don't ever think they turned them on before they shipped them quite honestly.
- Charging $20 for the jan app pack, then 3 months charging $10 for 2.0 upgrade with jan update pack. Effectively charging some users $30.
- Apple releases software patches to fix hardware problems because they are too cheap and too full of themselves to admit there is a problem with their hardware. iPod Touch screen problem anyone? 3G iPhone reception?
I haven't been too happy with apple since the iPhone release..seems like since then their product quality has gone way down, they take forever to fix problems, and above all they are trying to nickel and dime iPod owners now.
