Vista is an whole new OS... Is the iPhone 2.1 update a new OS? I doubt it. It is probably more like a Service Pack.
More like a hotfix. Hell, people who have the iPod classics WON'T be getting an update for their iPods, when all it does is add a few things (I forget what, but it is something that could easily be put on the classic, they just aren't doing it).

Classic owners will be getting the update to add Genius functionality and whatever else. Jobs said it in the Keynote video.
yensed, I still don't know how your sig says 'best of both worlds' when you have to keep libraries for both Zune and iTunes...how do you manage all that?

You can manage your 'Library' from iTunes and the Zune Software will update your 'Collection' accordingly. They're the exact same files. The only files that will not show up in the Zune software are videos from iTunes and music with DRM. You can even download and organize your podcasts from within iTunes and have them sync to your Zune.
