8 teens expelled for sex

wow, this town looks like it's 100% black (not being racist, it's just true), but these kids were caught doing sex on a field trip, watch the video. What do you think is going on in our society?

A bit harsh. Why have them lose a whole year of schooling?
I'd image they weren't the best students to begin with.

Unless someone was raped, I see no reason to expell anyone for lewd behavior in a private setting.

If anyone should get kicked out of school its the supervisors.

It's not that I wouldn't expect kids to try to go and have sex on a trip. When I was at the state track meet, 2 guys tried to sneak out to go have sex, but they were 17 and 18.
What gets me is they're 8th graders, that's way to young.

Lol, it's like how we just got this new girl at our school, and well, within a week she was doing some interesting stuff in the art closet with a dude... if you know what I mean.

She just didn't get caught.

my house is just around the corner from my old school, so i'd just skip and come back here if i wanted to have some fun. if the opportunity came up where i could have had some fun on a field trip i would probably take it, i just wouldnt have gotten caught.

I don't think it's the fact they had sex so much as the fact that they weren't were they were supposed to be. Lazy on the chapperones' parts, but still the kids should know better and abide by the rules.

I don't know how much of this is actually new trends in society, and how much is just information being much more widely disseminated. If this happened before the internet and cable news, and a lot of the new transparency in our society, the parents and school officials would have kept it quiet. We have a tendency to look at some shocking event and imagine the world falling into chaos, society leaping forward in its corruptness, but a lot of that is false perception (probably most of that), due to how these incidents are covered. Humans have sex, it's natural behavior, and kids disobey authority, it's not new.

I agree!

Back when I was in middle school, a 12 year old girl from a rival school was caught giving head to two guys on a field trip on the coach bus. This kind of thing has been going on for a long time.

i thought the punishment was good, i mean, the admins didn't do they're job and gave the kids the oppurtunity to do this, so if they were doing what they were supossed to be doing then none of this would have hapenned. hmmm......In the process of writing this post I have realized that my conclusion was not correct and i wish to change it to be this :the kids should NOT have been expelled.
