Default I HATE MICRO$OFT

The procedure entry point GetRequestRuntimeInfo could not be located in the dynamic link library mscoree.dll

This is the error that I'm getting. I looked through program files and i'm not seeing the mentioned .dll. Is there anywhere that I can download it so that I don't have to uninstall the software and rebuild my library?

Well i tried uninstalling and re-installing (Yes, I used unzoone) and it gave me the same error. So I did a system restor back to this morning and it's still doing the same thing. I've been looking around and that .dll isn't a Zune dll. I haven't been able to locate it yet but I'm looking. I'm not going to let this kick my ass. If anyone has any suggestions it wou ldbe much appreciated. I'll update as I find out more.

You can download it here: http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dl....shtml?mscoree

yes I've tried that already. However, there are two mscoree.dll files that came up when I did a search and I don't think there are supposed to be two. After looking through the .dll and some research on the web it could possibly be a .NET issue as well... I'll update later.

It wouldn't be under Program Files. It would be under C:\windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework .

Having multiple copies of the file is normal.

It's actually in the system 32 folder... I'm going to try and update .NET to 3.5 If that doesn't work then I will try to use new .dll again and see if the combo works. I'm not reloading my machine. I just did that like a month ago.

Ok... so this is what I've found so far...

Nothing worked. I have replaced the dlls with new ones, I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the zune software and I even tried updating the .net to no avail. Because there is something wrong with the .dlls it won't let me install any new .net updates. I must have picked up a trojan of some sort because my AV isn't picking anything up... any ideas?

mscoree.dll is a .NET framework DLL (Microsoft .NET Runtime Execution Engine) and GetRequestRuntimeInfo is trying to determine which .NET frameworks are installed.

I am pretty sure Zune uses .NET framework 2.0 (not 3.5). Download/reinstall/repair that version of the framework.

Is 3.5 not backward compatible like 2.0 was with earlier version of .NET?

That's the problem with .NET Framework there are around 5 (I think) different versions of it. And none are compatiable, although 3.0 was supposed to be (with luck and prayer) 3.5 "fixed" (and by that I mean broke) that nice little addition to the framework. My only suggestion is to intall all of the frameworks, run in a circle 3 times, and repeat the phrase "Please work" 1000 times (the last 2 are not needed but are worth a shot).
