Bad grammar/spelling

So far i've been pretty amazed that some of you (the older, "supposedly" more mature people) lack the knowledge to know how to spell or use english correctly (except our internationnal members). This reminds me of a sig Greg had earlier from which i learnt that typing correctly did have a sense of satisfaction towards it. Its not hard, just try to think about what you are typing.

spelling and grammar dot bother me, unless it is completely awful.

yeah same thing for me, doesn't really bother me as long as I'm able to read it and understand it, then it's all good for me. But I do understand what your trying to say Stuart, good grammar is easy as long as you think about what your typing.

Incorrect spelling:
I've not i've
Its English not english.
International not internationnal

We all have spelling mistakes I just feel like, me along with a lot of other members here feel like this is a forum not an essay contest.
I mean seriously as long as you can read it and it gets the general message across. Then so what?

shh... I have a dodgy "n" key, but I was talking about serious bad spelling/grammar as in when its not "possible" to read a certain post.

True.
But sometimes people are in a rush.
Or on their cell phone, psp, iphone, etc.

And other times its just habit.
But for me most the time I'm just being downright lazy.

I agree. It's pretty ridiculous how bad some of the grammar gets around here. But as long as it still conveys the point somewhat clearly I can live with it.

I hate certain things. I don't care about misspellings as long as you at least try to do it right. things like you're/your and there/their/they're piss me off because I view them completely differently in my head so when I'm reading a sentence, it makes absolutely no sense to me and I have to go back and reread it several times to understand it.

But FF spellcheck FTW!

i try to type on the same speed that i think and so i dont really have time to worry about spelling nor do i ever go back and make sure that the thoughts i put in print are coherent enough so that other ppl ..besides me..can understand them. as for grammer i dont really find a point in using it properly online. i know there is one i just refuse to see it because im lazy as hell and i have a few months left until i graduate and so i could care less about my online forum grammar..........

......and btw stuart when arguing for the use of proper grammar u should really capatilize ur "i"'s ... like when ur referring to urself.. it should be I not i =]

I generally try to have good grammar and spelling on the internet but sometimes circumstances make it hard (like being lazy, not noticing typos, not caring about typos).

Well...okay I see a point. I do.
But at the same time, I type fast and do not proof read as fast, then hit submit, then edit, then stop editing because you know what? I just do not care enough.
I can see the point but it really makes no real difference. Youre...you're right though, sometimes its hard to take someone serious when they spit bad grammar. Then again, give the benefit of the doubt. We all, after all, bought Zunes. We must have some kind of positive intelligence!
