You just pissed me off, so let's get some things right. Emo people are people who have problems. If they cut themselves, they shouldn't be made fun of, they should be helped. I know because someone last year killed herself at our school and then a wave of depression hit the school. It really sucked.

The only "emos" that should be made fun of are the people who aren't really emo, E.X. the people who cut themselves for attention only.

But really, don't insult people who could possibly kill themselves, it's not something to laugh at....

I don't think people know that "emo" refers to "being over-emotional"... It doesn't mean "I listen to music about death and hating people". ****, it really pisses me off when people say "OMG I HATE EMOS". You know what? **** you. Seriously. **** you. Do you not realize that some people don't have the greatest lives? That some people have legitimate reasons for being constantly depressed? I've been depressed for over 9 months now since my move away from the best friends I've ever had. I've tried to find the best things in life, but you know what? It's getting rather hard. ZuneBoards and Halo 3 can only distract you from the depression for so long. Right now, the only reason I'm not looking into dropping out of school and stop caring is the fact that in a month I get to go see my friends for a full week. Sure, that week is going to be fun, but I'm just going to go back to being depressed.

Most wouldn't think I'm depressed. I'm a pretty easy going guy, right? But trust me, it's getting hard not to start being a bitter old bastard... Not everyone has the best of lives, and many, many people have it much worse than I do. My depression happens to be rather small in comparison to some of the other things I've heard about friends and family members.

Think about the fact that being "emo" isn't straight "I wear black clothes, black eyeliner and think my soul is a black abyss". I've known several who are legitimately "emo", yet you would never know it before talking to them. If you seriously think those people who go around talking with a "gay inflection" in their voice, and do nothing but smile and laugh, then you need to seriously reread this post and deeply think about it.

Being depressed and just looking for attention are 2 different things, but both are reasons that people act like that sometimes.

A true emo doesn't act that way. They don't sit around using black marker to color their finger nails and don't pretend to be "one of the devil's disciples". You can't classify someone as an "emo" because of the way they dress, the music they listen to, or even by what they claim to do in their spare time.

I think this whole emo bull**** is just that: bull****. Being depressed and being "emo" have nothing to do with each other. I was once depressed. I once gave cutting a try. I once came really close to suicide. That doesn't mean I wore dark, tight clothing and plastered my hair to my face after having dyed my bangs some outrageous color. If you're depressed, you're depressed. If you're emo, you're ****ing stupid. How you dress does not define your mental status, and vice versa.

I hate the attention getter i-cut-my-wrists-and-dress-goth fake "emos", but people with real issues who aren't just being attention whores deserve help. depression ****ing sucks! I have random bouts of "why am I so worthless" and "why the **** cant I do anything right" just the other day, I forgot to get a candy bar for my step dad when i was at the gas station, and I broke down crying. I won't be bothered by most things, then BAM, I feel like crap over the smallest thing and it pisses me off because I don't know why.
