should have posted this when it happened, but i've been so pissed, i try not to even think about it much....
On December 21st, between 9AM and 11:30AM, my 1st Gen Zune was stolen right out of my car. The location was Lakeland, FL. What makes the situation worse is that I was in the parking lot working on government vehicles when it happened, leaving my car doors unlocked (but not open) the entire time. The white 1st Gen Zune was modified with the iPod 80GB hard drive, and carried my screen name, "GarciaM25." If it matters, the serial number is 106935464510.
I've since bought a 2nd Gen 80GB, but now that means I've spent almost $700 in Zune hardware ($250 for 1st Gen, $189 for the 80GB drive, $250 for the 2nd Gen -- all that ASIDE from the accessories I've bought!). Does anyone have any idea about contacting Microsoft about the stolen Zune and what they could do? I mean, if "big brother" was watching, it would be through Microsoft products for sure!
To the jackass who stole my Zune - thank you for not taking my wallet, car stereo, Bluetooth accessories, headphones, or anything else just sitting out in the open, and JUST taking my $450 Zune.... hope you had a wonderful Christmas, maybe you went somewhere cold for the holidays and left Florida, but have no fear, you WILL burn in hell for stealing....
if you're going to call me a fanboy, at least know the facts:
PS3 > XBOX360 > Wii
Micro$oft > Apple, thus, Zune > all iPods
Blu-Ray > HD-DVD
Beretta > everything else
Clemson University > your school
You can try calling and reporting it as stolen. They might be able to decet if it is plugged into a computer.
Did the lot have any security cameras?
1-877-GET-ZUNE
i'll try that, thanks
no luck with security cameras, called the police and filed a report, but what good does that do? i'll bet my 2nd gen Zune that they're going to keep it and not pawn it off.... it'll never turn up that way, but i'll try the 800 number and find out if they can do anything, good looking out

Don't mention the modification, but just tell them your Zune was stolen and give them the serial number and see if they can track where it's been plugged in... I know Apple has the ability to track serial numbers, but they don't do anything with it.
that is what ive been telling everyone not to tell about the modifications /me sigh. lol and they shouldnt be able to do anything.. unless the person who stole it calls customer support saying he needs help..

They cant track when and where a specific Zune is plugged in, I do not think this is legal - same with Apple. I mean how could it be? Although its no surprise with a company of pricks like Microsoft.
