Default I have a odd problem...

Ok, I received a 30gb 1st generation Zune about a year ago and I really liked it. Then I got a iPod Touch soon after and I also really liked it, but now I want to start using my Zune again for those short trips. So I got the new 4.0 software and connected my Zune. It prompted me to update my Zune firmware, Ok no biggie. It started, It got to about step 2 and on about 50% my computer just shutdown....I mean just shut off. My computer has only shut off on me once before. So I did it again thinking it was just one of those things. Well it happened again....It's very, very strange. What can i do about this? Is it the software? Is it my Zune? Is it the firmware? Is it the computer? Thanks!

Is it a laptop or a desktop? A sudden full shutdown is really uncommon and is usually a sign that something hardware wise is dieing. If it was windows, it would throw a BSOD (Blue Screen of Death), then probably just restart.

I'd probably test the power supply first, since most other parts would either throw a BSOD or cause other symptoms before a hard shutdown.

^No BSOD....My comp has only shutdown on me once before and that was like 2 years ago...Thats the reason I'm thinking it has to have something to do with either my Zune or the Update...

I would suggest restoring the Zune to factory settings and trying again. It's almost definitely something with the update or the Zune if it is how you describe it.
