Hey all...

I'm having an issue with the Zune software disrupting my USB ports and dumping the wireless card in my desktop.

I'm running Vista sp2. 3gig of ram. Can't remember the processor speed. Zune software version 4.0.

A few mins. after opening the zune software the num lock light on my keyboard starts flashing randomly and the motion of my mouse pointer stutters (in sync with the num lock light!). Seconds after that the pc drops the wireless network. When I try to reconnect to my router, the card cannot detect my router (nor the other routers in my hood). I have to restart the PC to be able to pick up the router again. The fastest way to kick off this meltdown is to play music from either the library or marketplace.

I've tried cleanly reinstalling the software three times now. Any suggestions?

1) ok i have a playlist on my zune called "viet songs". i wanna to add another song to that playlist on the zune directly. i tried dragging it to the playlist but it would not add. i don't want to copy the playlist to my collection, add the song there, and then sync the playlist back to the zune...is there a quicker way for me to do this or is that my only choice?!!!

2) also can i create playlists within playlist, like a tree structure? for example i have a general playlist called "viet songs". in it, i want to add playlists containing the name each individual artists, which in turn would contain the songs themselves. is this possible?

zsuite don't work for me and i do not want to downgrade so does anyone know any tricks for these two questions? thanksss...zune software blows ass btw

Hey guys,

it's quite a long time I used my Zune so it still has the version 2.5 on it. Now I have installed the newest version 4.0 on my new computer. It recognizes my Zune in the first place, but then I get an error C00D11CD (80070057) and it just won't update my firmware and my Zune is not being recognized. I tried everything like restarting Zune, reinstalling, manual install (the zune-firmware.msi file won't start) of firmware but nothing worked for me.
i tried updating my old computer, but I get the same message here after installing 4.0.
I'm using a non-us-windows vista and now I can't use my Zune anymore :(
I think I have all needed Windows updates installed.

So is there a way to fix this problem?

thanks in advance

Sorry guys have already posted so please close if needed.
I have just built a new PC (Windows 7 OS), all working great, realised that i will need to download new Zune software version 4.0( i have a Zune 80gig), so I did this, all downloaded, restarted machine and plugged in my Zune, what happened next is odd, the zune is getting charged, but cannot be recognised, when I go into the control panel the device is shown as unknown, and then drops off the screen, then re-appears over and over again (along with the message in the task bar advising it cannot recognise the device), I have done the manual reset on the Zune, have run windows updates and installed all updates, have tried several different USB ports, cable worked and software woked fine before upgrading to 4.0, anyone got any suggestions? I'm in Australia so I can get onto microsoft support for this as they don't support the zune here as it is not sold here, really love a fix b4 i chuck this in the bin, i always used to rate the Zune, but after this i'm thinking of going to the dreaded ipod, cause as much as i hate to say it, apple would not have this happen, see this update has caused all sorts of issues for people.
Thanks

i recently restarted my computer with factory settings which means all of my personal files and downloads were erased and it was like my computer was brand new. it runs perfectly well now because i think i deleted a virus that made the computer run like ****. anyway, i went to the zune.net site to download the software for my zune again (i have an 8g if that makes any difference). i've tried to fix all the problems. i'm installing the right software, it downloads the setup, and then the setup freezes and links me to an "update" but when i click on the update it just sends me back to the home page and i have the same damn problem over and over again. i've tried installing the portable software, but that doesn't even work on my computer because i'm not a geek, i tried looking for the "update" but i can't find anything, and i just downloaded this software on another computer like three weeks ago fine (at my dad's) so idfk what the problem is but it's starting to piss me off because i'm going on a road trip in like three hours and i need music!!! help ;-;

EDIT: NEVERMIND GUYS i solved the problem (actually by solving another guy's problem) if anyone else has this issue the solution is this:

hi there i just had the same problem that i posted about but i SOLVED THE PROBLEM ok when you do a system recovery (factory settings) what you have to do is because WINDOWS UPDATES are automatically DISABLED you have to go to the windows update website and UPDATE them see look go HERE Microsoft Update and install that, and THEN try installing the zune software !!!!

I just bought a new desktop and I'd like to use it to keep my Zune synced rather than the laptop I'm currently using. I have over 40gb on my Zune and put a lot of work into getting all the metadata, including album art, correct. Does anyone know if when I use the Zune software to add art or edit track data, does that modify the file itself? If so, then I should be able to just copy the music folder to the new machine and do a new install of the Zune software. But if the changes aren't part of the file, can I just do a backup and restore from the old machine to the new one? BTW, I'm still on v3.

Thanks!

Hey all,

I was wondering if anyone had a Zune Software playback problem where at the beginning of the song the sound volume jumps to some nasty saturation level for a split second then plummets back down to a normal sound level. It's annoying as all get up.

On a similar note, during playback the volume seems to adjust itself like it doesn't want to be too loud. It's like some sort of normalization thing. I read around and haven't found anyone with this problem yet.

Any ideas? I haven't found any Zune software settings yet. I hope I'm just missing something. I'm running Zune 4.0 software and have a Oringinal 30GB unit. The unit works flawlessly, it's just software playback on my PC. Oh, and playback on Winamp is fine. But hey, I see now the WMP11 is doing the same thing. Guess I've got some more hunting to do.

I'll still take any ideas though.

Thanks!
