I have a Zune 120 and frequently listen to podcasts. I usually do this while driving to/from work. I usually listen to 1/2 - 1 hours podcasts. When I stop partially through a podcast the zune sort of remembers where I was. When I try to resume, it's usually 15-30 minutes prior to where I stop listening. Does the Zune just do a bad job of remembering where it was? Possibly, am I doing something wrong?? I had been using a ipod and it did a great job with podcasts in this regard. Don't get me wrong, I DO like the Zune, I just wish it did a better job with this.

And I also deleted some pics on the software, this is bugging me that the Zune player is not mirrored as how the software appears (cause it still keeps these old stuff). So does anyone know what is going on here??:(

Hi! I'm back!

Ok, this time, I have no idea what happened. I sent my Zune in for repairs back in August (not Microsoft, a separate company), and they fixed it. They replaced the motherboard, because that was apparently the only thing that had issues after I dropped it in water.

However, the other day, I put a video on my Zune, and halfway through, the video froze, and then started playing again with no audio. I shut down the Zune. It took a much, much longer time than normal for it to turn back on. Then, as soon as it got working, as soon as I hit "videos", it froze, and I would have to restart it again.

After a while, I managed to get it to start playing music, although it would take a long time if I hit the "play all" button instead of selecting individual songs/albums.

Unfortunately, my Zune Pass music just stopped playing (resync with PC, even though I had done this several times), and I was forced to erase everything (back, middle button, play at restart). This worked, although songs would take a long time to start playing, no matter what.

Even more unfortunately, this morning, I woke up to find that my Zune was freezing at the Zune logo thing that you get when you restart the Zune. The Zune would make loud clicking sounds (what I assume is the hard drive), and eventually, the Zune will either say to contact support, or it will begin to erase all the contents of the Zune.

I have no idea what is going on. Can anyone help? I hope I was informative enough.

I have an old 160 GB IDE HDD connected in a USB enclosure device. All of my music is on this old hard drive, had it for years lol. Anyway, whenever I try to sync a song from the hard drive, through the Zune software, onto my 120 GB Zune, it makes the hard drive enclosure erratically transfer data, meaning it stops transferring and then starts transferring, then stops again.

Obviously this is making syncing an album or multiple albums a very very slow going task. I just tried to sync my Metallica Discog, needless to say I had to abort or die of old age.

Right now my only fix for this issue is to transfer the songs I want to sync onto my laptop's internal hard drive from my external hard drive, tell the Zune software to look in the folder on my internal hard drive so I can sync to my Zune, and then go about it that way. It syncs the albums faster because it doesn't keep interrupting, but it's a pain in the backside to have to copy songs over, especially when there are a lot of songs and albums to copy. 60 GB worth.

This might sound confusing, if need be, just let me know and I can clarify anything.

By the way I'm running a Toshiba Satellite L305D with Vista (downgrading to XP as soon as I find a proper torrent). The external 160 GB is a Seagate, barricuda I believe and the enclosure device is a PowerSpec. Zune player is a 120 GB with 3.2 firmware.

Thanks for your help.

Everytime I log onto my Zune software it starts to download all of the podcasts I used to subscribe to before I realized it was saving EVERYTHING to my hard drive. It spends a good hour uploading all of the Science Friday's and the Fresh Air's before it even gets to the music I have requested. Please help.

Another problem I am having is that when I right click and delete, it doesn't ask me if I want to remove it from my computer, so I end up with a computer full of music that is no longer in my collection. How do I fix this?
Thanks.

Let me tell a story I hope someone can add a happy ending for me.

I have a folder in my docs called "downloads" I put all my music and videos in that folder to upload onto my Zune 120. Since I almost filled the computers hard drive, I decided to get a 500gb external HD and started to transfer my stuff to a folder called "downloads on that drive.

All was going well untill the other night. When xfering, it goes to my documents on the external drive and I have to click and drag it into the downloads file. But this time while doing this it froze for a few seconds and then said "folder is empty"? Where did the files go?????

I tried to clean the files with some tool in properties but that didn't work. I tried to send another file to that folder to see if that would bring it back, and it stated that there was a file by that name already in this folder, so it must be some where within the folder but I just can't see it.
So, can anyone give me any ways I can get this folder back with the files visable?

Thanks for any help.

I am missing about 3.45 GB in storage space from my Zune 8GB. I have no videos on my zune, since I have now deleted them all but in my storage space breakdown, it says that I have 3.45GB of videos. Yet, when I click on the Videos tab under my device in the Zune program, it says (in bold) YOU HAVE NO VIDEOS ON YOUR PLAYER.

I also wanted to try accessing my Zune as an external drive to see whats on there but when I went to `My Computer` it doesnt show up, even after refreshing multiple times.
I am really confused with this situation, any suggestions would help.
I listen to podcasts a lot and the Zune software is not so clear in regards to managing the downloads. Anyway I downloaded a video from the Zune Marketplace. I noticed that there are 2 selections for each video HD and SD. I downloaded the SD version and used the AV dock to watch it on my HD TV. It looked OK but nothing to write home about. The AV dock had component connections and I was wondering if the HD version of the video would play on my Zune 120 using the component connections.

Hey, i'm using a Zune 120g and i just recently started getting no audio from it. Doesn't matter whether i wiggle the audio jack or not, i get nothing. I've purchased a new pair of headphones and the result is the same, so it cannot be the headphones. It is older then one year for sure, is it just dead from old age? I don't recall doing anything that would break it, nor does it look bad, just a little age worn. I haven't updated the firmware in a while, but its impossible that it can effect the current situation as it happended over time, not from installing new software. Other then the audio it works the same as the day i took it out of its packadge though. Any help/advice/what i should do with it? Or should i just drop it and grab the HD? Thanks.
