I have downloaded the zune package from Microsoft's site and I will start building my library right away to be ready when the zune arrives. I will start converting my flac files to wma lossless.

Hi guys, Just curious to know if anyone knows whats been going on with the zune linux project. There website Zune-online.com is filled with spam to convert dvd's and most links dont work.. So anyone know anything...

Also. I've been working on a audio surf style game for the zune. Currently its in Complete Debug mode and nowhere near finnished. It also currently only works on the pc.

http://www.4shared.com/file/15564324.../ZuneSurf.html

Controlls:
Left, right
When you enter the game you will see a black screen, Hit space for new game. Basicaly collect the coloured items and not the gray items, If you hit a gray all your colours cancel out.

Mainly im wanting opinions so far and new ideas for the game...

I have also completed a working towers defence game for the zune.

4shared.com - online file sharing and storage - download Towers.ccgame

Middle button is select in all menu's, left right to choose another map when your in that screen. When in the game press middle button to place/upgrade a tower and play button to sell that tower for 50% of all funds spent on it.

Just to let you know with this game.. There is no end. The game will crash if the damage amount of enemies gets higher then 2,147,483,647. Ha, i doubt that this will happen tho. Its easy at the start then gets progressivly harder, Trust me. so far i have gotten above level 110.

All games are made for the latest Zune firmware, i think its 3.1.. and its not designed for the Zune HD.

Views, opinions and comments welcome.

Cheers

On Oct 2nd, my zune 80 stopped working. I conacted support and they lead me through the process of filling in a request online so that I could print out the shipping label and not have to wait for one to be mailed to me. The only problem with that was the print option no longer works and I had to wait two weeks for a label anyway. Two weeks later and I ship my Zune out. For weeks I logged into my account and got the same message, label sent.

Eventually it updated (skipped everthing else) to being service. It stayed that way for a couple of weeks and then suddenly the repair request vanished. I figured it must be on its way. Two weeks later still nothing so I call support again. After a bit of a delay they look up the tracking number and tell me its on the way. I log into UPS and find out that the shipping information was entered into the system 12 days earlier but it didn't actualy leave until 10 days later. Alright, I figure nothing to do but wait.

So this week the package arrives. I mean the package not my zune. I signed for the delivery and the UPS driver hands me the box. I can't help but notice how light the box is so as the driver is heading down the stairs I call to him and point out the fact that the box seems like there is nothing inside. Once we get in better lighting (it evening and dark) I point out to him that the seal on the package is broken. He tells me I can open it but now that I signed for it, he cannot accept it back. Eventually he suggests that I just open it so I open the package in his presence. My suspicions are confirmed the box is empty. The drive tells me I have to call UPS and file a claim. At this point I'm really pissed but whatever.

I called UPS and they opened the claim and told me they would pick up the package the next day. They also told me to contact the shippper as they are the one that is insured and would receive any payment if that is deturmined.

so I call zune support again. After explaining all that had transpired the rep indicates to me that this will have to be referred to escallations. He also indicated that the weight of the package on the UPS tracking information indicated that the box likely left repair empty. The weight was 4 tenths of a lb which is what the empty box weighed.

Later I get a call from a different rep and I go through the entire story all over again. He tells me they will investigate and get back to me. I ask how long is this going to take as I have already been without my player for weeks. He says within a week.

Last night I get a call just after 11pm asking if I can send them some pictures of the box. I explain that the box has been picked up by UPS and is already on its way back to the repair depot.

I'm beginning to believe that this is never going to get resolved or at least not in my favor. So I'm out my player and will have to decide what I'm going to purchase to replace it. I've liked the zune and was an early adoptor with the original 30. After this experience and the run around I'm now getting, no way can I justify buying another. I had a Zen Jukebox but both the player and software were subpar. I'm not a fan of iTunes but at least you gan get service.

So, any one else have service nightmares to share?
