This is my first xna/zune game. It's a Jacks or Better variant of video poker. You're dealt five cards and are allowed to hold (Center button) up to five in order to achieve the best possible hand. Jacks or Better and you're a winner. Hitting the back button puts you in the pause menu where you can select your music, look at high scores or quit.

I used xna studios Alien Game example as a template for the game and Netrix's Solitaire game as a reference. Also, Bolt made some suggestions for the game that were very helpful. Hope you like it!

Nice job. It's a real solid game with nice animation. I was wondering whether Spider Solitaire or this would come out first.

Edit: I found a bug. If you choose the deck on the right, the game crashes and resets the Zune.

Hmm. Maybe he fixed it without saying anything. I just re-deployed and still getting the same error. I'll just re-download the file again and deploy and hope it works.

It deployed fine, but both decks cause the zune to restart.

Spider is playable, but there's no menu or undo yet.

ok sorry should have been more clear...

a payscale like

1 pair -- 1x the bet
2 pair -- 1.5x the bet
3 of a kind 2x the bet

and so forth....

does that make more sense

Yeah, It already does. When you deal a new hand, the wager is deducted right off. pay scale is the following:

jacks or better 2x wager
2 pair 3x wager
3 kind 4x wager
straight 12x wager
flush 15x wager
full house 20x wager
4 kind 80x wager
straight flush 200x wager
royal flush 2000x wager

I think the deduction up front might have thrown you off. Originally, jacks were 1x wager and 2 pair were 2x wager. Changing those two was a suggestion from Bolt on how to make the game a little less frustrating. It's definitely a lot more fun to play now.

I have a Zune 30gb. I've tried multiple times re-deploying and re-downloading and the right deck still does not work. The left deck works fine, but the right one restarts the Zune.
