Nope. Um. It's a bug I need to fix

Default Nice Game

Pretty good, it freezes when I try to scroll through the song lists though sometimes. Bug maybe?

Sounds like it might be a good idea to get the art asynchronously to avoid lag.

You would use an art cache which would store already accessed album art. If art is requested that is not already in the cache, the art request would be queued for loading by a worker thread. The Draw function would then display a temporary image instead while the art is loaded. This is similar to what the Zune firmware itself does, and it would increase responsiveness of the music menu.

Do you know any code for this? Cause I'm thinking of using an array or a list of textures, but there's got to be a different way. PM Me.

Pretty good game.

I am so used to DDR with the controls as Left, Up, Down, Right. So I keep getting confused.

Other than that, not too bad.

the game is sweet!!!

its a really fun game but i only have 2 problems

1-that if i scroll too fast without first playin a song my zune will restart and the loading

2-that i have to put the volume up before i start the game(nd i forget to do tht every time my zune restarts >.<) so id be cool to see a feature in the game that lets you put the volume up

besides that good job man keep it up!

After reading all the great feedback i was eager to download this game, then i deployed to my zune but my screen freezes on the loading section.

It also freezes when i deploy for the first time through visual c, my zune stays on the "starting" screen.

I waited 3 minutes before i closed visual C, i restart my zune manually when it freezes up on the load screen.

Any help will be appreciated

Cool game, man. But for some reason, when i look through my music for a song, when i get to certain point, my zune restarts. Also, the music selection thing should be so that you select the artist, than the song.

Wow...really good. I'm real impressed.

Yeah seems like everyone else I just have a few things, I concur on the song select by artist then song would make life easier...

And the board disappearing happens on medium as well if anyone cares to know.

And I'm just curious (seeing as this is the 3rd game or so I've seen based off of guitar hero ddr, music, etc.) what kind of programming do you use for the notes? Do you run it random off the bass line or something? It throws some crazy combos from time to time...hahaha and sometimes it doesn't really even go with the music. Either way it still kicks some...I love it.

It uses the getvisualizermethod which sends 256 freq. and there levels if one is higher then a certain level it sends a note down.

This might be the zune is denying access to album art or a song. Do you have a zune pass?

Hmm... It's supposed to exit if there is any problem, it might be trying to find a song that is protected. Do you have a zune pass? or is all of your music bought from the marketplace?

Open the .csproj file inside of the folder inside of the download:

\\Groove 1.5\\Groove 1.5\\Groove 1.5.csproj

When i start the game from the game menus it doesn't restart, just stays on the zune loading screen, recently i locked my zune were the code i put before was not working so all the content i had was erased. I got a zune pass the same day, so all my music on my zune atm is from the marketplace.

To my understanding, we are unable to access DRM protected music (all of the music purchased from the marketplace) in games. So for Groove, it will not be able to see any of your songs if they are all DRM protected.
