I have moved projects. I am now working on a Sonic CTF game with singleplayer. It is pretty much the same code except for a few Sonic additions but if anyone would rather have this steet court version just send me a message and I will gladly fix you up a build.
I have a beta of a game I worked on for a couple of days. Basically it is a 2d Capture the Flag game that uses wireless for multiplayer. I still have alot planned for the project, so feedback is welcome. You can read more on how the game operates at the following URL.XNA Capture the Flag for the Microsoft Zune - Home All art provided by runningriot has been implemented. This includes flags, players, bases, level backgrounds, menu backgrounds, and loading screens. Bug Fixes: -Waviness at top-right of screen has been fixed. I accidentally set my rendertarget to big. -Players now have the option of Enabling/Disabling the touchpad. At the main menu just press left to deactivate and right to activate the touchpad. -Not really a bug but I put in the player art provided by runningriot. Edit: -New art has been put in that was provided by runningriot. -I have added some protection from puppy-guarding. If a defender intersects the base rectangle the flag cannot reset. -I forgot to mention that if you press B (Play Button) while you do not have the flag you will go invisible. If you press B when you have the flag you will get a speed boost. Planned: -Play music from the Zune in game(Shouldn't be hard to implement) -Maybe add a pair of teleporters. That decision relies totally on the people that play the game, it just depends on whether people think if teleporters would take away a little bit of the strategy or not. -Give the option of quitting to the game menu when the round is over. Tried it out, works great, but we noticed a few bugs. To begin with, you can just stand at the spot where they have to bring the flag and they can't score. Also, the touch controls weren't very exact.(but then again I have a case over the touch pad so that may be why).

How did you edit the dds's though? I couldn't find anything to open a dds file... And, what's with the "Xbox Live" ? Shouldn't it be "Zune Live" ?

RunningRiot I love you
I would be more than happy to let you contribute to the project, I apparently am not very good with art. If you did art for the players and flags that would be great. Just remember, as I am sure you know, that the resolution must be very small. Just the few things I saw were great. As for being able to sit at the base and wait, I'm planning on implementing some kind of anti puppy-guarding system. I will let you know what I do in the near future. Thanks for all the feedback, I would love to hear more. Oh and the reason I had Xbox Live in the background is because I originally coded this on the Xbox 360. If everyone is cool with it, I think the Xbox Live logo is sweet. If someone else has something cool that could go there, that would be great.Last edited by Twanks : 06-29-2008 at 08:40 PM. They are PNGs and should load right in (I see you will most likely have to alter some script too, from what I saw of it). If you need me to edit them somehow, please ask bud. Yeah I will have to make a few minor code changes. We will see how the flag appears against the background. I can use spriteBatch.Draw(flag, flagposition, Color.Blue) to change colors for when teams are on offense or defense. (I just pick the available colors after typing Color). I am going to implement the puppy guarding system and all of your art first thing in the morning as I have just got back from a 14 hour drive and I will most likely make coding errors when I am this tired. I will have an update some time tomorrow. Thanks!

A new version of the game has been uploaded on CodePlex. This new version implements the art provided by runningriot and hopefully eliminates some of the puppy guarding problems. Please download and provide more feedback, I do not have my second zune right now so I am not able to test out the new puppy-guarding code. The download for the game is under releases Here Just click the same download link as before, I just replaced the files.
