No, it doesn't restart when I try to play music. It might restart when you try to play music, though.
Do you have any DRM protected music? Does it restart before you can get into the music menu screen? Does it restart only after you click "Play Song"?
Also, it would be good if you could right-click on the ZuneSolitaire project within Visual Studio, go down to Debug, then Start New Instance. Try to play music again, and when an error pops up in Visual Studio, copy the error and the line at which the error occurred, and post them.
There is one case which it does crash for me, and that is when an artist that has no songs is selected. This really shouldn't be possible on a Zune, since artists only show up if there is at least one song from them. However, it is happening to me for one artist, which it says doesn't have any songs, so I imagine it can happen for other people. (Still, I doubt your first artist just happens to have no songs). I would be able to tell if you do like I asked, so I can see where it is crashing.
Also, I'll be fixing the problem that I've been having. Maybe it will fix your problem as well.
here is the error when i try to play music
An unhandled exception of type 'System.IndexOutOfRangeException' occurred in Microsoft.Xna.Framework.dll
Additional information: This parameter must be a valid index within the array.

What category do you have selected when that happens? I'm guessing playlist...
It happens not in playlist but in artist.
I hope you can understand this...
When i move to change from artist to another title (I think it was song name?)
then i move back to artist and play a song and then it restarts.
I love this game but the sad thing is i've never been able to win. I'm really horribly bad at solitaire...LOL

No such thing happens to me. Do you have any DRM-protected music? Or music with non-standard characters in the title? You should start it with debugging and try to get it to crash again, an error message should pop up and that would tell me what the problem is. Otherwise, I can not do anything to fix it.

EDIT: I don't have any DRM- Protected music. But i did have some songs with "illegal" letters. i deleted them but i still get this message:
An unhandled exception of type 'System.IndexOutOfRangeException' occurred in Microsoft.Xna.Framework.dll
Additional information: This parameter must be a valid index within the array.
When i try to find which part of the code i get this: No symbols are loaded for any call stack frame. the source code cannot be displayed. It only happens in theartistcategory.

Okay. I'll add more checks to make sure that the index never goes out of the range.

is the success of a download pretty much jst luck? and how would u get to it once its on to your zune? and do u get it onto your zune the same way u get like music or videos on it?
Zune reboots after this session:
- playing a game with the Custom cards. Mid game, I change the cards to the big cards. Win and finish the game, but when I press the play button for starting a new game, Zune 80 just rebooted. No music was playing.

RIG deployment is here! Now you do not need Visual C# and XNA to deploy Solitaire! (You do need the XNA runtime files. You have them already if you have deployed any game before.) Please post any problems/issues with the new deployment system.

Great Game... I love it, and I love the cursor idea, it works really good, now you need to make a OS... lol
Well right now, I am working on a secret project. Do not get too excited, though. It is not Block Dude. I put that on hold. Only some people will find any use for what I am making.

Awesome. Could you explain to me how the "rig" version works.
The RIG version deploys the game to the Zune without having to use Visual C# and XNA Game Studio, which makes it easier to deploy. It uses only code that itsnotabigtruck wrote himself, which keeps it from violating Microsoft's EULA.
Flash Gordon, Thank you for the rep, but I will pass on the sex.
