wow uve really turned this into a sweet game. keep working on it, like more upgrades and weapons. right now, there is only one extra weapon its a homing missle (which is very nice by the way) right? if you get another little weapon ball, then the missles come out faster right? maybe more weapons (i know ur working on lasers now) and an upgrade ball that is a diff color, i dont know the difference between blue and green. and upgrade for missles would be better if you got an additional missle for every upgrade instead of faster shots. thanks for the game, keep the new releases rolling. your the best with getting those new versions out. +rep
Edit: just looked at first post, saw that multi-missles were added already. also when i tried to download the latest version, all it game me was the folder full of files named Squadron Z, and no solution.
Edit 2: k guess all i needed to do was go into the source file and i could deploy from there thanks

Oops, quite right. I put up the wrong folder. The right one is up now but even in the wrong one, it still have the project file which you can deploy from.
For Ricardo Dawkins: I haven't actually measured it, just noticed that once I get up to 10 missiles and I'm killing multiple(3-4) enemies at once, you can see it lag a bit.
the speed of the ship..
like people where complaining about it moving too fast, i think it makes more of a challenge.
maybe you could have 3 different modes : easy, medium, and hard
they change the ship speed.
or you could just have a menu option that changes the ship speed to the different number selected (1-10)
I didn't try the older versions, but I still think that the enemy shots are a little hard to see. They're big which is cool and they're easy to see when you're not firing but I think it's the fact that they're constantly changing color that makes them harder to see. With your bullets coming out as tiny rainbow bullets and the smoke of the missiles as well as their bullets flying at you sometimes their bullets get lost in the confusion. Maybe making them one solid color that is easily seen against the background and your bullets one color instead of a rainbow as well. I'm not sure I think the bullets are still a work in progress.
What do the green power up balls do? I thought they would be to refill your life a bit but I couldn't figure it out.

I don't even know if I like or dislike it but I would think you might want to put a cap on the amount of missiles you can accumulate.
I like the game so far it is actually my favorite 2D shooter on the Zune so far and I really appreciate how quickly you're pumping out the changes. I do think the ships need some graphical work and I might try to whip something up in Photoshop or Illustrator for you sometime soon. I don't know much about what kind of formats you're using and what resolution they need to be though. I guess I'll go through the game files and see if I can find the ones you're using now and maybe see if I can just play with it but overall keep up the good work man.
It would be cool if you added astroids to make it a little harder. Like at first they're really small like twice the size of the shots and real easy to kill but then they get bigger and bigger and take a lot more shots to kill. Same with the damage they do to you, the little ones don't hurt you much but the big ones hurt you alot. Also, when you shoot the big ones the burst into smaller ones.
I agree with Ipfansether about the missle caps and i'm think 8 would be good for when more and more enemies come out they won't be too easy to kill.

you need to get that font. or if you are using windows xp, you need to change the font to another. to do this follow these directions:
1. look for a file that has a .spritefont file and click it.
2. look for <fontName>(what ever font you want)</FontName>
3. from the last step change where it says Courier New to what ever you want.

The green powerups increase your normal machine gun damage. For the missiles, there is a cap at 10. From there the missiles do more damage every level but you don't get any more... might reduce that to 8. For the ships, any size should do, it'll just get resized to 30x30 pixels. I guess the smaller the better. I've been thinking about changing the enemy bullets again, but haven't decided what to do yet. I want to make something that still looks good but is fairly obvious also so I'll be working on that.
could u also please change the firing button to the the center instead of play. also some health power ups along the way will be helpful. umm... also sometimes i get a warning that a new enemy is coming but sometimes it doesn't say it is that normal?
