UPDATE: V2.2 now up! It now supports the zune guide! Just press the center of the zune pad (pause) to pause the game and access the menu. Press the back button to make the zune guide go away, then press the center button again to resume. http://readyuplive.com/downloads/xna/RockRainSD22.zip
Game Name: Rock Rain SD Creator: Sharpgames - Modified by me, Greenskull Version: 2.0
Good things people have to say about RRSD:
Quote:
"Sweet! Thanks. This is exacty what I wanted.. " - soccerfreak24
"Great game! I just deployed v2.1 and it looks real nice. Full menu, sound effects, Help file everything." - retrac1324
"I really like version 2.1 the touch pad really works well on this game. Looking forward to version 3, Thanks guys" - Danni
"I've been trying out all of the zune games as they come out and I have to say in my opinion this is probably one of the coolest to come out yet keep up the good work! Cant wait for V3!!" - Bezike
This is an upgrade from Rock Rain SD. I released SD earlier today (well...yesterday now) and it swarmed through the series of tubes we like to call the internet pretty darn quick. I heard a lot of good feedback and a lot of...well...not so good. So, I took everyone's suggestions and decided to stay up all night and make Rock Rain SD V2! Here's a list of improvements:
- Go to next and previous songs using the back and play buttons
- TOUCH PAD! (I spent most of my time getting the feel of it just right)
- Faster extra life spawn
- Control enhancements
- And more stuff I'm too tired to remember...
CHANGES IN 2.1
- Better touch controls
- Constant music (if you die, it will keep playing so no need to restart)
Huge props to Link9228 for adding the music support and the nifty menu music. Gotta love the community! FUN FACT TIME! Ever wondered what SD stands for? Sudden Death. I named it like that as a placeholder because the game is sudden death at the beginning and it stuck. ENJOY!

I like how you updated the help file to show the song changing!! and thanks for giving me a shout out, I was glad to assist in any way possible!! The games on these forums are slowly getting more and more sophisticated and entertaining! It's really amazing, and I'm glad I get to be a part of it.

I can check into it, I may have to examine code from another game with high scores so I can understand the concept of how it works, then I can probably Implement it. And maybe with further coding, I can make the high scores save. I'll have to work on that soon.
Great game! I just deployed v2.1 and it looks real nice. Full menu, sound effects, Help file everything. I think that all the developers should make snippets of code and create a code of library (highscores code, menu code, etc) so that the entire community and work together to make some real nice and professional games.

we might look into it in the future. But for now, Rock Rain SD (RRSD) is probably the most modable game out there. The code is well put together and easy to make changes to.

Thanks for the direction. Are you planning to have it be able to load playlists, or just the default songs? Can you show us how to edit the songs and use our own? (Instead of the Harry Potter/Lily Allen Music?)

We'll have to get back to you on that, right now we're adding features. I'm currently working on a High Scores menu.. i have most of it worked out I just have to figure out how to display the .lst file the data is stored in.
Greenskull is working on some other updates.
More information will be released after all the changes have been made.

if you downloaded the newest version, just press the play button while in game to go to the next song, and back to go to the previous song.
We also have version 3 coming up. Here's our idea: We experiment with this one game, implement new features, create things nobody has before. We're doing it for the community. The next one if pretty sweet, trust me! Let's just say scoreboards and extra powerups~
