how can the rest of us help
i can do some beta testing when my zune gets back from repair
i also have another question
which version would you say the gameplay is going to be more like
1st gen red,blue, yellow,
2nd gen gold silver crystal
3rd gen ruby sapphire emerald
4rth gen diamond pearl
i know i skipped fire red and leaf green
I would probably have to say that the gameplay will most likely be similar to ruby/sapphire and the diamond/pearl versions.
I'd love to help with this too. I'm only just learning programming, and only in C#, so I wouldn't be much help there. I could do some spriting if you needed me, though it's not my strong point. I think I'd be best for the writing, as I consider my writing skills one of my strongest points.
So yeah. I'd love to help. And I think I'll redo that carpet for you anyway... (I don't mean to be mean about it, but it's very pixelly and bad looking and it really needs to be redone. Also, you saved your sprites picture there as a JPEG, and ruined the colors. Always save as a PNG.)

Narutor22, thanks for the sprites – can I ask which site you got them from? Or if you made them all yourself, but that would have taken a while. Good job either way, and thanks for jumping on getting started so fast. : p And about it being the same type of game play as diamond and ruby and all – friggen awesome, I didn’t know it would be that good.
Darth Sinister, it’ll be up to everyone working on this project, but I think that we should going to save the betas for mainly staff and a couple of the helpers, just so we can keep the source code to ourselves. If you want to help, just tell people about us!

To Locke – storyline writers will also be in charge of script, but I’m sure everyone working on this will want a part in the storyline, so script will be the main job of writers I think.

Forgive me for pitching what might be a massively complex coding job. I'm not saying "Do this or i won't play" I'm sain "What if?..."
Start where the first gen RYB Poke'*** started "Kanto", then move through the second "Johto", then third "Hoenn" (sorry if i got it wrong), then the Diamond and pearl era.
To "unlock" the next region, the player must defeat the Elite Four and the current standing champion. This goes for the 3rd and 4th generations. Also the 8 badges from each reagion are required...Johto's to get to hoenn, hoeen' to D/P. After unlocking all of the regions...the player will be able to travel by any means, fast-ship...etc...whatever developed by the creators (cough)concorde(cough)
I'm guessing a grand total of 32 badges, several hundered Poke'***, and a ton of hours.

Pokemon Zeunerite Version! (that is a real mineral look it up!)
Zeunerite is a greenish-yellow mineral that is radioactive, it is sometimes used as a subsitute for uranium, fairly soft mineral, it was named for G.A. Zeuner (the person who discovered it) PM if you like it or don't like it!
I think we should bring in the whole radioactive thing into the story. Say at the beginning of the game, you go into your house and your mom says: "Oh, honey you should go explore our new town. When you've talked to everyone come back." After you talk to everyone and meet your rival (exzact points not confirmed) you go back to house and your Mom says you should go to your room and watch TV. You watch a TV show that says: "There are strange reports coming in from all over the region of abnormal pokemon behavoir. People on the street are saying that pokemon are acting much more violent than usual. We advise everyone to stay in their houses in this potentially dangerous time." After the TV stops, you go downstairs and your mom says: "Ooh, Honey did you watch that TV news story? We should stay in the house." Suddenly you hear a cry for help! You run out of your house and see Professor ________ being attacked by some kind of weak pokemon. He yells: 'Quick! Look in my bag! There are pokemon inside it!' So you go to the bag and pick your starter, battle the pokemon and save the professor! After that the professor says: 'I don't understand it. I've never been attacked like that before. It doesn't make sense!' The main point of the games will to find out the reason behind this abnormal behavior and, of course, become pokemon league champion. That is all I have written so far but PLEASE tell me how you like it!

JK, but anyways, Zeunerite sounds pretty sweet actually, (not to mention it sounds a ton like Zune, haha). That's my favorite by far, and the radioactive thing could be seriously tight.
Besides that, right now I'm just sorta wondering how to do the map - we've had a ton of ideas pitched already, from volcanoes and craters to desolate earth to all the places combined, and even one that resembles Earth (my idea : p) but nothings set in stone. Maybe we should take a vote.

Well according to the private message Jabie99 sent me, he picked 'zuenerite' or whatever the **** it is called because it sounds like 'zune rite'
so in other words it would be called 'pokemon ZUNE RITE edition'

Bad news: Radiation can be kinda dangerous, so using it liberally will be tough if we want don't want to kill people left and right.
Good news: I've already thought of several solutions to how we can implent it. And all of them seem plausible. Give me some time-I've got a crapload of work to do right now-and I can come up with a good plot synopsis for you guys to chat about.
