What Happened?

When I first discovered Zune games which was probably when Galactic Wars was coming out, there were games flooding out everywhere. It seemed as if we would get 5 to 6 games a week. Now, we are lucky to get 1 game every week to a week and a half.

Don't get me wrong. I know the developers work very hard on this and offer it for free and I totally am thankful and respect that. I am just curious as to why there is such a slow down in production these days...

Does anyone know what happened?

I have been wondering this myself. My guess is that developers are trying to make more in-depth games that actually have a story to them, or will just be longer to play than a pong game or tetris.

Yeah, but the first few weeks of games were kinda crappy. Just devs trying to see what they could do and how they could do it. Now they're trying to make better games, which take more time.

That is correct for a few of us developers. My game will hopefully be worth the wait.

There's also more thought that needs to be put into the games at this point; the games at the beginning were basically classics that everyone loves. They won't last forever though, and something original in someway is what devs are most likely working on now, I know I'm trying.

I have a few years of programming experience, while he has more than 20. It will take some time.

As for my game, I am trying to make a high quality one, but it is not original. I do not have the time to come up with something new.
