Before anything like that can be implemented, there needs to be a common library for menu systems.

ZBlade is an example of such a library, though one issue is that it tends to be somewhat intrusive to the application, so the application has to be designed in advance with ZBlade in mind.

What I have done for Asteroids and now for Zuneopoly is gut the AlienGame from microsoft. That gives you the menu framework you need, as well as save game support and such.

That is what I did as well. All you really need to do is copy all of the source files in the "Screen" folder, them implement them accordingly.
