Default [REQ'] Model documentation

Hey

I know there are many great (games) programmers here. There are also a lot of people wanting to get in to that. I think a really good idea to help the newer folk, would be a word document that documented a good model to use in the making of games. By documented, I mean with diagrams, generic code snippets and written explanations. Nothing HUGE and book-worthy. Just something that could help newer programmers wanting to get in to the scene.

Thanks,
Andy\Bursh.

P.S: I tried not to make that sound all needy and "You should do this because I asked you to"; but I probably didn't quite hit that target.

I've seen that when he first wrote it but I found it too specific and it explained his methods more than the model he used. Don't get me wrong, though, it's a brilliant piece and I (and possibly even the rest of the community) can't thank him enough for making it.

In the Update method, you update stuff.
In the Draw method, you draw stuff.

That's it.

I also know that, too

Aah - I guess I'll have to try and work the models out my self

I'm working on another article focusing on making a much simpler game (one of those "snake chasing fruit" types), which might be a bit easier to work with as a beginner. It uses far fewer classes and favors simply using multiple methods for handling the game state over multiple classes. It should be a little easier to start off with.

Should be done tomorrow, but since I'm writing it for the Coding4Fun blog (Coding4Fun) it won't be up until they decide to put it up. I'll definitely be posting here when that happens though so keep your eyes open.

I stayed up all night and finished it up at 4:16 am today and sent it off to the Coding4Fun guys. I'll let you know when they get it posted online.
