Default Zune Pad Scrolling Feature

Is it possible to enabled the scroll-through when swiping your finger across the zune pad on messangers and touch enabled games (ex: solitare)....What I mean is if you are on Q (on a qwerty keyboard) and you swipe your finder across to the right, the selection will scroll across to P without stopping...Same with games...In solitare, scrolling would take place from left to right, top to bottom...again, without stopping.... Speed of the scroll-through would be controlled by the speed of your finger during the swipe....If this is possible, it would be great; rather than touching the pad or pressing the pad each time for the following selection .....

Yes, it is possible, but requires the developer to code it on his/her own. The problem isn't so much that it's not possible, it just requires a lot of work and neither XNA nor anything else gives anything that makes it general enough to be used between different projects

Actually there is a section for Zune programming on the XNA Wiki: Zune Programming - XNA Wiki. One of those pages includes a ZunePadState class which will automatically handle reading in taps and flicks. That handles the input and then you just have to use that input to do what you want. Should make things at least a little easier on devs.

sorry birdman for the double post..........thanks for the answers guys.....one thing i just tought of....alien game made by XNA, Sir Tet, zBreak, Rock Rain, Pong, and mainy other games react to the touch in a way that when you lightly hold your finger to the left, the space ship, tenis "racket", etc. keep going left until you let go of the pad....i wonder if the same can be done for messangers...you hold left and the selector goes left until you let go....that might be a resonable explanation....
...I wonder if a code template can be created for this...since this is very helpful, useful, more comfortable, and since zune has a potential in word typing (messaging, web[perhaps in the future], notepad, etc)...a developer might take the code and redo it a little bit according to his app....

I programmed a system for scrolling, almost exactly like the main zune ui, for My Zune QUiz. It just didn't feel right, so I scrapped it all.

If you still have it, maybe you could post it as a thread as an example....i wouldn't mind experimenting with the code myself on some games....
