One of the XNA program managers Michael Klucher explains the performance differences between the Zunes: http://klucher.com/archive/2008/06/2...-8-and-80.aspx

I've opened up a Connect suggestion for an option to temporarily disable these features. If you want to see an option go in for allowing this, please register and vote on the issue here: https://connect.microsoft.com/feedba...193&SiteID=226

Cool...Looks like your speculations were right.

btw. The mS connect page doesn't work.

According to my calculations
Zune 80/8/4 has approximately 76% if the processing power as zune 30.

No need to calculate. Michael posted the exact figures:
Quote:
However the processor in the Zune V2 runs at 399Mhz compared to that of 524Mhz on the Zune 30.
So it's 125Mhz slower.

See here for instructions on how to get set up on Connect: http://forums.xna.com/forums/t/414.aspx

I wish someone would think of a solution so you (SimReality) could continue developing the zune shooter game.

maybe if a post was edited it should show as unread, would be pretty useful (and maybe another link for last edited post)

One advantage that the 30 GB Zuners have.

I was planning on getting an 80 gig zune this summer but this is throwing me off quite a bit. Ill stick to my 30 until the holiday release of xna to see if this is fixed or not, and decide then

Seriously guys? Come on, let's get logical here. Never knew how uptight people can get with double posts, cause honestly, there are always those times when you just need to double post. Who cares?

alright this may be a stupid question, and will probably get a stupid response but here it goes. Is the zune 80/8/4 processor underclocked, or is the chip physically "less powerful" compared to the zune 30.

The cpu is slightly slower than the 30, but this isn't what is causing the lag. The 2nd gen renders at a slower pace.
