Default [In Progress] ZuNES - NES Emulator

Just thought I'd give you guys a heads up that I'm working on an NES emulator. I know it may seem strange since I've only posted here a couple times, but I've been working on this for a little while now. Just managed to get reliable video output and control input today. Hopefully I'll have up pictures or a video in a day or two, and a release within the week.

I heard someone got one working, but it ran at 7 FPS. Hows this one run?

I call shenanigans on that one. I am definitely not working on that gameboy one, I dont understand most of it, i just tweaked a couple lines of code to make it semi functionable

Yes i did, but i just changed the lines i understood lol. Most of what needs to be fixed is the video processor and things that deal with output and i dont understand them at all.

And that was a Gameboy / Gameboy Color emulator, not a NES emulator. And it was started by Tiptut300.

Visual Studio 2008 allows you to place miscellaneous data files into your project. I'm currently storing them in (AppDir)\Content\ROMs.

Slow. I haven't actually done a FPS test on it, but it's definitely not at a playable level yet. If it were, I'd have released it today :P There's also some palette issues, so everything has wrong colors... But it runs!

Great news! As long as you get it to a bearable FPS this will be awesome.

It'd be super tight if we could get a working NES emulator at least running 15 FPS. Just think. Mario, Metroid, F-Zero, zelda. Next we have our super nintendo emulator, moar!!!

Since I'm still up at this hour, I decided I'd throw a video up on YouTube. Keep in mind that this is still an early, early version...

I was just talking with Pauliver, who says the majority of time is spent in the Draw function. If the PPU routines can be optimized, the speed will go up massively.
