No you cannot get java games on the zune. The zune will only run C# programs using XNA. Luckilly (well if you are talking because you can program in java) C# is REALLY close to java. If you can program java, you can program in C# pretty easy.

That's good to hear. I'm pretty proficient in Java, and I'm looking forward to doing some C# over the summer!

I have been programming in Java for the past year but C# is still a very weird language, although the syntax is fairly close to Java.

What do you find weird about it? I had only really used java before, but after looking at 1or 2 basic tutorials I was able to build a decent game. There might be little quips that are different, but on the whole it seems more like microsoft java than anything else.

And also to address the OP's 2nd question. Part of the reason that the touch has emulators (only in the jailbroken form) is because the coders have much more control of the hardware than we do. We are restricted to use C# instead of C++ or other more powerful languages. Give it time, I have no doubt at some point we will get some form of emulator (how playable it will be is questionable).

microsoft really should have thought about games from the beginning. i mean why should cell phones have better stuff than the zune. whats suprising is they could have easily just used winmobile.
