You should make it like audiosurf, or make a person playing a guitar in the backround like GH

I really wanted to see this game blow up. There where alot of people that wanted this game(me included of course) couldnt you release the code to someone on your level or higher standing and be given credit for the project. I'd hate to see something like this sit in the closet and might never see the light of day again. The world needs ZuneHero or at least i do

In earlier posts he said that it does it might be just a second off, if that. But like he said in the post above yours, he hasn't done anything else to the game he's been busy and it'll be a while before he works on it again thats if he ever does. We should start a thread about ZuneHero and how much we want and need it. and the happiness it'll bring to the world. lol.

You could always add an options menu which includes easy/med/hard so you can have the person choose if he wants 3,4, or 5 bars. Then it could be similar to like guitar heroo... speaking of, you could have some that you need to hold, some that waver over to over bars, and some bonus points if you keep getting them.. That would be awsome!

So i've been working on this the past couple of days, I got the notes to go completely with the music, its no longer off by a second(maybe a couple milliseconds but its unnoticeable), Ill work on the menu system, as well as scoring and such, Ill also try to get someone from the gfx crew to get me some better graphics for this and I expect a release by late this weekend/early next week.
I did notice it gets laggy with heavy bass songs though, I'll try to fix it but i dont know if i will be able to

Ledzepp, i will support you on this project however you plan to pursue it. But (in my opinion) based on how guitar hero on tour did for ds spoiled any chance of a portable guitar hero being fun, i suggest using this for a different purpose. If you want opinions/ideas, why guitar? I think a game like audiosurf is a much better idea. You said it would function more if the notes fell faster, well with the speed at which the ship/car travels it would work fine. I'm just saying that making a gh clone would be "kinda" pointless since you don't get an actual guitar feel when its portable. And on zune lol.

You can think of it as ddr then, theres a game, beatwave, that is more towards the line of audiosurf.
Audiosurf in 2d just wouldnt be fun, it would be any of the space type games except that instead of trying to avoid the meteors you would be trying to get hit.
And if you say i should just use the raycaster to simulate 3d, I would then have to completely rewrite my code, which i dont want to do now that i got it to work perfectly in this situation.

oh ok. That's actually what I thought it wasat first, a ddr game. Yeah beatwave is a very fun game. But i meant like over the heat (maybe slightly tilted) and you can see the track. I'm not sure if you're great as far as graphical experience, but if you were to capture the vibe audiosurf gave. Just in 2d. Just please consider it. (even though you are not near getting started on it)

And no, raycasting would be too much. I've seen the code, and there's no need to simulate 3d here.

Other than that, great job!

you should definately make a way to pick a song, and you should be able to make your own note chart for songs, and you need a way to pause... maybe up or down?

There will be a menu in which you can pick a song and if you have played it before you will be able to see your previous score.

What do you mean by your own note chart?

idk how easy it would be but as you're playing a song you can press the buttons as the song plays to make your own notes for the song... i've heard a few people who wanted it for groove. I know they have it for tap tap revolution for the ipod touch.

Not possible, There is no video support in xna and no gif support for animations. Plus it would just lag the whole game down
