I was at target one day and i saw the zune in a big display right next to the ipod, while i was waiting and messing around with the zune and ipod, the one biggest reason i didnt like the ipod was The click whell(its to hard to control) and the screen is really small. and gues what zune fixed both of those problems. On to the reall part of the story. One day after my first love with the zune me and my frien decide to go dumpster diving and we found a zune behind office max so of course i snatched it and took it home turns out the ribon cable to the screen was out so i fixed it took it back and office max ended up buying me a black zune.

I don't actually care to win, but I'll post mine in good fun.

I had been planning it for months. I was looking for something to replace my archaic old mp3 player. It was about this time that details had been leaked regarding the Zune. I carefully analyzed my options and realized that I did actually get more bang for my buck with the Zune, + it had an individual factor to it.

In a nutshell, my two reasons:
Bang
Buck

BTW: modified your title a hair just to make it a little more informative. Hope that's not a problem.

i bought my zune for a bunch of reason. but my top 2 reasons would be to:

1) stick it to ipods
2) im sick of everyone saying that IPOD are amazing and the best. When they never tried anything else. I like to try something new so i was the first person to buy a zune at my school. And i want to see everyones reaction when they say, "pon can i use your ipod" and ill just say. I dont have one, i have a zune

I will try my hand at this, though I doubt I will win.

I was hearing a lot of hype about this new "iPod killer" and I thought that I would check it out. I did some digging, and I thought that it was better than the iPod, but no killer. I wanted it because it would not scratch as easily as an iPod, and because I thought that it would be hacked really soon and Linux would be put on it-boy, was I wrong. Anyways, since it was near Christmas time, there was a military discount for iPods. My mom ordered me one, then, when it came in, I went to the store, got some store credit, and got myself a zune.

In short: Because it does not scratch as easily/at all, and because I thought the hacks would be awesome.

I actually only have one reason i bought it....

1) My friend had been telling me how sweet the zune was going to be for 2 weeks and I wasnt really paying attention to him but then on November 14 2006(Launch date of the Zune) I saw it on the shelf of my local Wal-Mart and almost cried at its beauty and it was a total impulse purchase cause i hate the ipod and i read the features of it and paid straight up in cash....I was going to buy a 360 thats why I was carrying over 250$ w/ me

Hhaha the funny thing about loveandhatejw's story is that i was the friend who went dumpster diving with him but it wasnt office max it was staples...

1. I hate the "iScene". I hate the iPod owners who critique every other player on the market. I hate the Microsoft haters, putting them down for every product, even though it has 87% of the market share for PCs and about half of that for the portable electronics market. I wanted to be the person who stood out in a crowd, and I wanted to be the one who was "outside" the trend.

2. I wanted a reliable product. Microsoft and Toshiba are 2 wonderful manufacturers, and I trust them to have the incentive to make such a good product.

1: i was sitting in class about 1 month before christmas. My friend pulled out an iPod 60gb vid player. He started to spin the wheel when he skipped past the song he wanted around 5 times. he couldn't get to the song he wanted...it kept skipping past it because the wheel is sensitive. I wanted a good MP3 player that NO ONE had...i was sick of the beloved iPod that EVERYONE wants! so...i asked for it for christmas...my parents screwed around with me on christmas and saved it for last...i opened it...IT WAS AWESOME!!!!

2. my other friend...alex, dropped his iPod nano about 2-3ft from the ground...it BUSTED...I saw a vid somewhere on teh net that they dropped the zune...it had about 2 dings in it...still worked, played vids, and everything else...i knew microsoft would make a good product, i looked at toshibas gigabeat, but said screw it and went with the zune because of battery life...

Although I do not want to lower my chances of winning this, I must say that ruinedmonk did have two reasons, unless you count his reason of needing a new mp3 player as not valid. They were the aforementioned needing a new mp3 player, and he also said that he wanted to be original.
