Default Extensive Zune review on Head-Fi

Just finished up a big Zune review on Head-Fi, the hifi earphones community board.

Thought folks here might be interested.

Great review Mercuttio. I don't mind the Zune software app...though like you it is sometimes frustrating trying to find a menu option a second or third time!

As for it always hunting for new music, videos, and pictures...it'll only keep looking at the directories you set for it to look in.

* One tip for you if you have not already found it: Smart Playlists are possible. Instead of clicking on "Create Playlist" in the left controls, RIGHT click on the "playlists" heading above that selection and create an "Auto Playlist". This allows you to define rules for automatically updating playlists as you keep adding music based on many user definable rules.

Ah, cool. That's a handy feature. One major problem I'm having though is that once I upload a video to the Zune, I'm unable to see it on the device in the PC software. Playlists are the same story... what's the deal with that?

Playlists you won't see on the device when looking through it in the Zune software.

As for Video's...hmmm. I am able to see every video I upload onto my Zune.

Things to check: Make sure you have the little filmstip icon selected. Make sure you click on "all video" under the device in the Zune App. Short of that, I'm not sure why they do not show up.

Hmm, yeah, I had that stuff taken care of. Might just be a glitch on my PC though.

Hey, so, I see how to make one playlist on the Zune. Can I make multiple playlists and name them on the device without touching my PC?

Nice to see a positive review for a change.

I love my Zune. It does everything I've wanted it to and have had minimal problems so far.

I just wish I could delete from the device, and a clock would have been nice.

Hey Mercuttio! You were the one that recommended that I get the DT-770 headphones and they kick ass. If you like the Zune, its gotta be awesome.
