Good free MP4 converter

I have a few movies I want to upload and share with the community (clerks, family guy movie, american history X) but they were all poorly converted to mp4, the audio is ahead of the movie so the mouths stop and the sound still goes. Does anyone know of a good MP4 converter thats free that they could share?
