im so tired of everyone putting the zune down. i bought a zune and then two weeks later i won a video ipod. I played around with the ipod for awhile and its interface just wasnt as easy as the zunes. i think that the click wheel is really just a novelty. the zune i believe is bar none the best out there...ppl just need to realize

There's more to a player than user interface. I still haven't recieved my Zune, so I can't speak on that point.

I can hack my iPod. I can put linux on it. I can (and have) put Rockbox on it. I can play MP3, WMA, AAC, Ogg Vorbis, FLAC, Shorten, Monkey's Audio, or pretty much any other audio format that I want with Rockbox.

I can't hack a Zune. Microsoft encrypted and signed the firmware so that no matter what I do, I can't run my own code.

There's nothing wrong with the iPod. There is, however, a whole lot wrong with iTunes and the Apple Firmware.

They didn't want you to hack an iPod. The Zune is a first-gen device. It will get better. Linux doesn't really matter. Microsoft didn't want people brakeing it and smart ***es going "Oh I can run my own firmware!" and then come crying to them when they **** allover the codes.

Yes i'm pissed today.

The zune utilizes its hard drive better than the ipod because if you go to best buy or something and read the little information at the bottom. A 30Gb ZUNE can hold the same videos pictures and Music as the 60GB Video Ipod ------

No, that's just different computation methods. 30Gb is 30Gb, no matter what. The Zune Marketeers decided to compute number of songs and picture size based on smaller files. The iPod marketing team apparently chose larger values which they thought were more accurate.

Has nothing to do with the player.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, you get out of the Zune exactly what you put into it. This is my third week with the Zune and I have a ton of music and some really cool vids on it. I love it. I don't care if the Ipod sheep dislike the zune for whatever reason. How they feel about what I enjoy does not bother me in the least. Actually, most of the people I know, some Ipod owners, like my Zune. But if they had found fault with it that would have been their problem and not mine. Only my opinion counts.
