There were rumors at the Zune Launch back in Nov '06 this might be a possibility, but looks like Microsoft is stepping closer to it. Check it out:
"this system would allow Microsoft (and content owners) to earn money from the huge traffic of free files on file-sharing sites and elsewhere. Zune applies copy-protection technology to formerly unprotected files, and if users decide to pay the bill, suddenly there's monetary value where there was none before. I think I can here the criticism now.
If this does take off, people will totally think Microsoft is being the 'Big Brother' It may do more harm than good....whadaya think? ![]()
