I work at a place called Protech Monitoring. We track offenders on ankle bracelets through GPS. I used to work at Circuit City though before this job.

Its a fun job, Gaining lots of good experience working with the equipment. However I dont get half of the benifits the guys in redmond are getting. Microsoft wants everyone to get their certifications but, they wont do anything about it. Im looking for another simular job with Google or Yahoo, with better bennifits.

Ah. I understand. I've been under something like that before... at a summer camp

What type of stuff do you need to work there then? As in, what programming languages, skills, ect? My dream job is to work at some place like that, so I'd like to know.

microsoft is a big company . . . it doesnt necesserily mean that you have to be like a computer geek of somesort or like someone who have studied in MIT for years . . . it depends on what type of skill you have and what type of work you want . . . but computer geeks definitely have their place here and while surely shine . . . im not a computer geek . . . i think im only around 20% to 30% versed on computer related stuff . . . i do some office work and reports . . . but im efficient . . . efficient enough that i can waste my time here . . . hehehe . . . you know what i mean . . .

oh thats too bad. people like that really deserve some type of harsh punishment man. messing with innocent kids. i'm all for a Chinese firing squad or sending those guys to the middle east where they really show punishment.

well atleast its not big hassle. do any of these guys skip town on you?

I myself work at their datacenter. I make sure the servers are working physically and they have connectivity. If any problems arises with a server we are the ones that go and fix it. We are the physical end of everything.

CNN sucks. Nothing but bias love towards mac and celebrities. Sorry, I can't resist my chance.

I'd love to work at a technology place so I could put my gifts towards good use. For the people who work at Microsoft - how did you get your jobs there? What would you recommend as classes to take and qualifications to get hired?

Actually my school hooked me up with a job a microsoft.. After i got my BS degree in IT i went to the career center and they got me an interview. All i can tell you is know your OS's and network fundimentals. Thats if you want to get into the networking side. Start studing for your MCP and take the tests. All the companys are looking for good people with certs. I myself have my comp tia net+ and a MCP (microsoft certified professional) in 2003 Server. As long you have a strong heart and a good personality any company will hire you.
