Default Changing the Zune Icon.

This is a tutorial made by me and PhunkMaster. Yes, we realize some other people posted about this first, but we had found this out before they posted that, and began making a tutorial before.
First you will need to open Registry Edit (or Regedt32)

Find this registry value.

Go to edit the value, by right clicking it and hiting edit. ((DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING))

Copy this URL ((DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING))

Get a ICO editing program, in this example we used ICOFX. Once you have a program use the open file button...

Paste the link in the input box.

Edit the icon... Follow the image instructions.

Save the file.

Go check out the results in My computer.

Before you can use this you must do this mod.

If you have photoshop you can use this plug-in rather than downloading some other program.
http://www.telegraphics.com.au/sw/info/icoformat.html
This will allow you to open and edit .ico files.

Could someone post the original .ico files for the zune icons? I'm having trouble locating the icons themselves

Is there only a black Zune icon?

If there is, would it be possible to create icons for the other color Zunes and figure out what would designate color on thee Zune (serial number or something)?

P.S. - I put the original Zune .ico file here: http://pityonu.4t.com/USB%23VID_045E...-_8EE00652.ico

PityOnU, thanks for that icon. There should be icons for the brown, white, purple & yellow zunes. If you could find those as well, that'd be amazing. ;D

Bumping this thread from the dead is most definitely a no-no unless it is stickied. If this wasn't such a helpful post, I would feel more inclined to lock it. Please refrain from bumping old threads in the future.
