Will Microsoft ever?

Will Microsoft ever release vids on the marketplace are we forever stuck at ripping and converting? OR is it something I shouldnt hold my breath on?
The fact it had a bigger and more vibrant screen was one of the primary selling points that got me and why I purchased it. Its a killer that I have to go through all this bs to watch a movie on it.
I did have a sucessful failure with a movie, the audio was off about 30sec. Unless there is a way to convert vids from Itunes.

I really think Microsoft will really up the ante and add video in time for this christmas seen as how new models are on their way. I feel the same way you do. But I think not having videos on Zuen Marketplace was the best thing that could have happened to me. I've learned the dark arts of ripping and converting!...

I agree with gold.n.god once you learn how to convert and rip and all of the skills necessary to putting videos on your zune, it saves alot of money and is pretty simple.

yup just download from websites . . . even in flv then just convert them . . . its better and its free . . . i use super converter its all in one . . .

Well, maybe some people would like legal full vids. Right now I pirate stuff to put on my zune, but I don't really have any other choice if I want new movies or tv shows on it. I'd definitely consider a marketplace subscription if they added a large library of movies and tv(plus saving time with no converting of my own).

try veoh.com . . . they have lots of selections for movies . . . just get the right search string and you'll be able to find what you're lookin for . . . good quality movies some of them in divx format so better get ready to convert . . . they have a video player which would help you in downloading videos from their website . . . im not sure if it works on vista because im having trouble trying to make it work in vista till now . . .

Thats the think iam totally not grasping the whole ripping and converting(ie my previous attempt), which iam totally fine with I have a decent size movie collection. Spending the money for movies isnt a problem hell i purchase points so i can be certain that i "own" certain albums that i download. Just curious about the movies.

The ripping and converting this is just trial and error with the different programs. When I started I had a 50% failure rate untill I started trying different progs and found some that work for me. Now I'm lucky if I get one in 20 to have any defects...Usualy my hdd fills up first. >.<

I am almost 100% sure that Microsoft will add videos to the marketplace.

Unfortunately, they will probably come with some new-fengled type of DRM that will suck

And Microsoft better hurry, 'cause what would the legal ramifications be to MS if they offer a product with a huge screen and no way for the movie/video companies to take advantage of it? It's no secret we're getting videos on our Zunes....

I think that when they do get movies, they'll have a time limit on them like a rental... or somekind of limit... like you can only have 3 movies at once... something like that.

I'd consider it if they were able to get movies that were out in theaters... because you would get a good quality vid instead of having to use a cam.
