how zune can compete with iPhone

since the zune has wifi it can connect to hotspots and access points if and when a firmware allows for it. it could have a mini webrowser just like in windows mobile. also have the ability to download music straight from it by adding a marketplace selection on the zune menu. what do all think of this.

i would love to see this happen so much but it probably won't happen for a long time but i do agree microsoft should really do something with the wifi instead of just pic and music sharing

nah dude, just marketplace access, and a friends list. If you share with somebody, you get their zune tag and can send them a friend request that they accept through the zune software and then from there you can share more music & stuff. You have an inbox on the net until you re-sync or connect at a hotspot. Wouldn't that be nice?

Well the zune competes with the iPhone because i heard to use an iPhone you must have a Mac Computer to use it. I actually have a friend who has one and his screen already broke from using the touch screen

Not true. The iPhone is compatible with Windows XP SP2, Vista and Mac OS.

cannot be compared . . . iphone is in a different league . . . its a phone . . . duh . . . i think the wifi on zune makes us wonder what other possibities zune would have . . . btw heard of the new video/audio player from sony the nw-a800 it quite cute but its quite expensive as well

I'll tell you what *might*..... the NDSL. Its got a microphone AND Wifi. all u need, is Skype and an Internet connection, and possibly if a manufacturer makes a longer lasting battery. There, DsPhone.... both touchscreen, and one's got dual screen, got great games and just simply better.

battery life the zune has a normal limtium ion battery, reports say these batterys last for years of use. 2-5 is the average from what i have read. the Iphone has a battery that needs to be replaced after 400some charges for a fee, what is a small fee on a $600 phone, $100?


you cannot literally compare 1 to the other since they are not the same product, but share similar features.

There will NEVER be a web browser on the Zune. The reason for this is that user input would be impossible. How would you enter text? How would you click on links? If you were to think of a good way, it would be time consuming and just lower the image of the Zune.


The Marketplace is possible, but it would have to be totally rearranged and redone. It is NOT as easy as you think it would be. Also, it would have to be very watered down due to the same lack of a mouse/keyboard issue.


Just remember: all you have to work with is a D pad and 3 buttons. The Zune is great, but there is not a lot you can do with that combo.

i think internet browsing on zune is not way off . . . i believe there is already a zune keyboard on the works . . . that would be great just look for a hot spot and your wifi is good to go . . .
