Do you believe in ghosts? Have you ever had an encounter with one?

I do believe that ghosts exist, but I don't have a 'ghost story,' though I wish I did.

One time, my friend Ashley (who was Wiccan, not that it makes any difference) and I were at her house, housesitting while her parents were gone.
God, I don't remember a lot of the details, but anyway, we were holding a seance or something or just calling on energy and her dog left the room. She didn't like that sort of thing. Now I've always been a bit weary on the whole magic scene, but you know how it goes. I was curious. Anyway, we were using my mood ring to analyze which energies were in each candle. There were three. Two of them showed up as a light blue, and one showed up as red. It didn't just show up as red though. It turned straight black, (not the actual glass, like it got burned, but the indicator turned black) and the glass fell off. I didn't hold the ring anywhere near the fire though... It wasn't like I was stupid and shoved the ring into the fire. Besides, it showed no sign of being burnt or having been heated. In any case, at that moment Ashley's closed door started to rattle oddly, and we heard the sound of a washing machine or a dryer. No one lived in the house next door, and no matter what happened, we couldn't find the noise. Sadie (Ashley's dog) whimpered and went into Ashley's room and wouldn't get out. So we locked ourselves in Ashley's room and tried to look up some way to get whatever the hell it was out of the house. Ashley had to go to the bathroom really bad so she gave me some incense stick and had me wait outside her bathroom while I held the incense stick. She told me to make pentagrams, so I did. One of them stayed. Not only did it stay in shape, but when it rose it flipped to inverted and back to normal. I was really creeped out and told Ashley. She got out of the bathroom immediately and we went back to her room. Finally Sadie got so worked up we had to take her outside. While we were walking I noticed my right arm was completely numb. I looked down and realized I was still wearing that ring. I told Ashley, and tried to take it off. It wouldn't come off... Which was odd because I could twist it. Ashley tried yanking on it as well, but it wouldn't come off. When it finally DID come off, a huge gust of wind came our way... from Ashley's house's direction. Sadie wimpered. We went to the park, and Ashley wanted to bury the ring. I told her that wasn't a really good idea; if this thing was really possessed or some weird whatever, we wouldn't want to pass it on. So we went back to Ashley's and she tried to do a cleansing ritual, but it failed. I threw the ring away but when we got back to her room it was there. We went to Ashley's room and tried some fire divination to try to find some way to keep our minds off of the events... I looked into it and it opened up, and I saw troops being killed in a desert... And a pentagram flipping, just like it had in the incense. So I desperately tried to find some method to get rid of this whatever it was, and we eventually did... It required making a pentagram with candles, saying something, and blowing them out. Sadie yelped and jumped out the room, almost happily... She was in a good mood for the rest of the day... The oddest thing about this experience... Was exactly one week later a whole bunch of troops got killed in Iraq. ~Crystal
