1) Has anyone started using this ?
2) If so, what are your thoughts on it?

I've been using it for a few days. It took a bit of getting used to, but here are my thoughts.
1. No instructions on how to use it, so if you are unfamiliar with it (like I was), it can take awhile to get the hang of what to do. 2. So far, I've been unable to get it to sync to my Zune, although the option is there. 3. It doesn't tell you that you need to register to set up what shows you want downloaded, but you do. 4. I can't seem to find a way to change where it saves the downloads. I have all of my Zune files on a dedicated drive, but this program wants to save the downloads to My Documents, where I have very little room left on that drive. 5. Galacticast is awesome (Sci-Fi bookmarks). It made all the time I spent learning this thing worth while. Oz

I was going to type something, but I figured they said it best on their own site:
GALACTICAST is a weekly comedy show parodying all the worlds of geek-dom. From their apartment studio, Casey McKinnon and Rudy Jahchan (along with the other Galacticast players) mash-up their love of sci-fi, fantasy, horror, comics, and video-games to bring you hilarious sketches every Monday morning. Pretty funny in my opinion. But I like weird things and old sci-fi movies. If you want to check it out, go here: http://www.galacticast.com/ Oz

No problem. If anyone figures out how to get it to sync with the Zune or how to change your save directory, be sure to post it here. I'd love to know those answers.

I've been using it since it came out and it is a little buggy, but overall works fairly well. You can't set where the podcasts go to, so you have to find where it's putting them. On my computer it put them in C
ocuments and SettingsXXXXXMy DocumentsMy VideosFireAntDownloads. So I just go into Marketplace and add that folder to my Monitored Folders list. Yours may not put them in that folder so you might want to download a podcast and then search your computer for where it puts it then point the monitored folders to it. Hope this helps some.***UPDATE**** Josh from FeedYourZune.com wrote me and said that the next version will allow syncing directly to your Zune |

I absolutely love FeedyourZune, but it is buggy as hell.
Speaking of SciFi - I subscribe to Escape Pod, a weekly sci-fi audio podcast - i.e. an audio short sci-fiction story magazine...very cool. http://www.escapepod.org/ Just wish they would fix the bugs - I typically run into them when I am trying to remove content from my subscription list (for example, things I've already listened to and want to remove from my library). |
