Ive heard that the Zune will play mpeg4 files, but the offical website doesnt say anything about mpeg4.
So whats the offical word, as ive just spend holf the day converting avi files ready for when my zune gets delivered thankx |

I will let one of the more seasoned members answer this one but as far as i knw the zune software can convert them and then sync them but wait for a seasoned member to tell.

Oh dear... if you can, convert your .avi's to .wmv's from now on, with the resolution at 320x240, and the video bitrate between 0 and 1500. Personally, I rip at 512 video bitrate, with audio settings at 64kbps, 44100 stereo. That results in a 45 minute TV episode being 170mb and good quality.
.mp4's are "supported" but every .avi you've converted to .mp4 will be converted again in the Zune software to .wmv, so a lot of time is going to be spent waiting around. |

I believe the zune software will play them and then convert them to wmv zune sync-ready format.
