i was wondering if anyone might know of a good source for video content that is already encoded for the 360. most of the h.264 content i find isn't encoded for the 360, and even a lot of vc-1 content isn't in the right format. do any of you guys know where i might find content that plays on the 360 without having to be re-encoded?

Have you downloaded the Spring Update? I'm yet to run into a H.264 video file which won't play. Are your video files over 4GB in size? On the official Xbox website they have tested and confirm a H.264 video file with these settings can play flawlessly. [Video Bitrate: 10 Mbps with resolutions of 1920 x 1080 at 30fps.] with No restrictions on the Max Audio Bitrate. "Higher rated content will not be blocked, but playback may be less then optimal."

my problem is that most of the video i find encoded with the h.264 codec uses the mkv container, and the xbox faq is explicit that that container won't work. also, i've read that if the sound is 5.1 it won't play since the 360 will only play two channel audio.
is this not what you've experienced?
