I have a small problem. Well I might not call it a problem but and annoyance. I want to be able to play my music from the Zune itself not from the library of my PC. I don't keep all the music thats on my Zune on my PC bc of hard drive limitations. When I go to the music on my Zune through the zune software the only thing you can do with it is sync it first to the library or delete it. I want to be able to play it without having to sync it to the library but actually play it from the Zune though the pc speakers just by connecting my Zune with the standard PC cable. I've heard that this can be done by purchasing an aux cable and connecting it from the headset jack on the Zune to mic in on the PC is this right? Or is there a simpler way? thanks a lot.

ok this is what you do...
Plug a computer speaker cord into your zune. Then you plug the other end into the aux input for your sound card. The aux input is probably colored blue. as apposed to the red mic input... and the green output.

hmmm... I can't edit my post either...
But what ever... I think.... I'm not sure... but the zune dock might be able to do what you want it to do. Also. if your computer speakers have and extra aux input... you can plug your zune into it with that. But you don't need any special wire... just the regular speaker wire will work... You know which wire it is... the one that looks like a headphone cord.

ok gotcha. thanks a lot man. i hope later down the line they update the zune software to be able to play the songs on the zune directly without having to do all of this. but i guess this will work for now. i love my zune apart from this issue.
thanks. |

this might work too... go into your sound card's options, it should be in your control panel somewhere... or at least.. mine is.
with mine I can change what input/output does what. I can make my mic input into anything I want. Maybe your sound card can do something similar. Line in... I'm not sure, but I think is the sound for whatever is in the cd drive.

Or just unplug your pc speakers and plug the line-in straight into the zune headpone jack? That's what I do when I don't want to turn pc on/am doing system heavy stuff on pc but still want my music playing.
