i'm glad i found this site.. it's been real useful for me. thanks!
however.. with the zune.. i havn't been very happy with it lately because.. battery life.. dies way faster than advertised... AND YOU CAN'T EDIT THE SONGS ON ZUNE DIRECTLY wow it's so important for some anal people like me that needs all their songs organized to find it easily.. why could you do it in iTunes and not Zune! unles i overlooked a solution to this.. i am not one bit pleased with this aspect. phew. |

Do you leave wireless on? If so, turn it off. It can suck up a lot of battery juice.
Also, how long do you have the backlight on? If you have it on all the time, turn the thing off! That uses up more juice, and most of the time it isn't even needed. ![]() ![]() |

If you have ur backlight on all the time it will only last 4 hours or less... change the setting to something like 5 seconds..no need to look at the screen while u are listening to music is there? its not like there are any visualizations. |

There is no way to edit it directly on the device yet, but you can edit it in your PC and then sync it back to your zune, just use this, is really helpful, http://www.zuneboards.com/forums/too...ta-editor.html . Good luck!

Battery Depletes Quickly?
Charge Zune fully: Connect Zune to your PC or use the Zune AC Adapter to charge the battery until the battery indicator is full and turns green. Battery Saving Tips Your battery will last longer if you follow these tips: Adjust brightess: From the Zune home screen, select settings, display, brightness, and press OK to adjust the brightness to low. Adjust backlight: From the Zune home screen, select settings, display, backlight, and press OK to adjust the backlight to turn off after a few seconds. The lower the setting, the better your battery savings. Adjust volume: While on the song screen (displaying the song now playing), or while viewing a picture or watching a video, press the control pad down to turn the volume down. The lower the volume, the better your battery savings. Use car charger: The Zune FM Transmitter requires more battery power, so when playing Zune through your car radio, be sure to plug in the Zune Car Charger to keep Zune charged up. Turn wireless off: Zune wireless operation requires more battery power, so when possible, turn wireless off. From the home screen, select settings, wireless, then press OK. Use Zune at room temperature: The Zune device operates most efficiently at room temperature. Use play all or shuffle all: The less that you interact with the Zune device, the longer the battery will last. When you play music, try to use custom playlists. Additionally, try to use the songs, genres, albums, or artists views together with the play all or shuffle all options. Also, instead of holding the play button to turn off the Zune, hold the 'back' button and the down direction on the middle button together for 6 seconds. This will shut the Zune down completely. If you just hold the play button, you put it into a hybernation mode and it will suck a little power to hold your place in the music. It will take a little longer to boot back up and you'll lose your place in the music, but you'll save precious power. Hope that helps... ![]()
