Default Noobs (note the spelling, WoW related)

If you don't play World of Warcraft, you probably won't understand much of this.

I don't mean newbies, people who are new at the game. I'm talking about straight up noobs, who reached 70 and are still rolling around with agi/str gear as a caster, or int/spirit as a melee dps, and have no idea how to play their class.

Let me reiterate. I, level 62 Blood Elf Holy Paladin of Drenden, was in a group for Hellfire: Blood Furnace today. After the second boss, Broggok, and two people have to leave, one of the people that stays says he found a replacement. A level 70 Orc Warrior. Still being one short, the 70 Orc Warrior brings one of his guildmates, a 70 Blood Elf Warlock. The 70 Blood Elf Warlock, a caster dps class, shows up in +healing gear, and starts making fun of me for using cloth, leather, and mail. Of course, I reply with "I'm a healer, I shouldn't be getting hit anyways." Which obviously pissed him off for some reason, 'cause he replies with "If you wanted to be a healer so bad you should've been a Priest, oh wait, you wanted a free mount." Of course, that pissed me off, considering Paladins can outlast, not necissarily outheal, a Priest, and of course buff the group with Blessings, and Auras, so I reply "Because the Paladin epic mount is free, right? I mean 6 Arcanite Bars, 1 Pristine Black Diamond, 1 Azerothian Diamond, 40 Runecloth, and 10 Sungrass cost nothing, let alone the 150g for the first part of the quest, and another 150g and 45g for two vendor bought quest items, making a bare minimum of 345g if you farmed the mats, and spending a few hours doing a series of quests. Compared to the normal cost of 540g it's practically free right?" I then link various plate healing gear, and cloth and leather level equivilent healing gear to try and show the difference.

For reference of his gear and character.

I mean, why can't I just be healer, and not constantly hear comments about how I should only wear plate because I'm supposed to tank while healing, or that I should go Ret. I made a Paladin to heal, not to be a Warrior that also does holy damage.

It's not that I'm lazy, it's that I just don't care.

I don't get the title of this thread...

It makes the word "noob" seem like something exclusive to world of warcraft.

Nah, I'm referring to a type of person that just plainly sucks at the game, but has the experience that it takes to understand it.

lol. I know what you mean. I used to play the RO on private servers. People there would get to max level, and then complain when they get owned in pvp.

I mean... "come on, you can't expect everybody to be as stupid as you.... go out and get some good equipment." That's what I would tell them after I owned them.
