i watch fox news. people just hate them because they challenge the standard liberal media bias. all media is biased...its just that fox news is biased more towards the right.

wah wah wah, whine whine whine, how about the liberal media has been attacking our president for the last 7 years? You don't care to mention that? It happens, suck it up deal with it, move on. That is our current society's way of doing things. It's not like they attacked YOU.

Whoa, you're insane. I don't even know how to respond to you.

It is not about spewing anything either way, it is about a news organization who claims to be fair and balanced and are anything but. If you are anti-liberal or anything thats fine, but don't claim you are fair to both sides.

i actually have to agree..although this is somewhat of a sensitive topic, because therse soo many things that are wrong in the media.

i guess i should be thankful we live in a country, where for the most part its an open media. i wont have some secret police knocking on my door for openly expressing my views(for the most part)

Well, honestly, I was in a pretty bad mood that day, particularly with the way this country is headed, but I'll leave that out, no need to spill my philosophy out here. So, for that I apologize and I guess looking back at it, it does look more like I attacked you than anything else.

Here's why I reacted the way I did:

I'm a Marine. I am not stating that expecting any more credibility on my part or expecting to get kudos or whatever because of it. It's a choice I had and decided to bring to life and I love it. What I don't love is how people are so easy to believe what the liberal media puts in front of them and disregards one side of the story. Now I realize that shows like 'The O'Reily Factor' and others, where they just take someone and make them look like a fool by controling the show are not appealing to many, particularly liberals, or hell even moderate democrats or Republicans. This creates a problem, well many but I'll focus on one, bias. Now you have people watching these shows and thinking 'that must be one sided news'. The O'Reilly Factor is not the news... And, if you believed there was ANY news station that wasn't biased, you'd be fooling yourself. News channels that have shows and programs that do anything other than just report the news, (or put people to sleep) are not really news channels. The reason is because news is boring. And in order to keep their companies afloat, they need $. In order to get $ they need viewers. This is where the biasing begins, and will probably never end. Now, in that clip, I don't see anything more than newsTALK shows, they were not in any sense reporting news, just discussing some recent news. And doing so using...a very natural American and should be human right called opinion. Of which is known for being conservatively biased on Fox. Let's take Iraq, for example. An extremely unpopular war by all means. Remember back to September 11th, 2001? Of course you do. Let's look at it from the simplest level. A terrorist organization attacked America. Now, you may not agree with the 'selling points' that President Bush used to get into Iraq, for example WMDs but then again, Clinton said Iraq had nukes. Also, Saddam Hussein, a genocidal dictator, much like Hitler has had what he got coming to him for a loooong time. No one did it until President Bush did. Why? I don't know, but Id be willing to bet that Americans were much more pleased when the news channels were reporting 'we got him' then they are now reporting 3,*** US deaths in Iraq. So, in general the US will support or not support on how and what the media reports. And by thinking that a biased news show bashing someone or something you favor is 'news' is on you. It would be akin to taking this here and calling the debate between us news....and then me calling it fair and balanced.

And you being upset that I called it fair and balanced.

Well, I don't agree with everything you said, but I appreciate the retort. Not so sure about the Sadam part. I am in no way defending this man, Just saying it shouldn't be our job to police the world. I feel (Let me state this is my personal opinion, nothing more) that we are being the big bully in the school yard and I am scared one day it will back fire on us. To me there are quite a few ******* dictators out there and are we going to remove them all?

Lets not forget we sold this man weapons too, we helped create that beast.

Other then that I actually think you are spot on. Fox tends to piss me off a lot quicker then the others but that is most likely based on my personal beliefs. In the end it is a campaign of fear because they have bills to pay.

Much respect to you for being in the service, I couldn't do it but I appreciate those of us that can, and do.

(also, +1 rep to you, and I would love to see you post your philosophy on where the country is headed sometime)

haha, maybe later. I kind of got carried away in the middle of writing that reply because I was compiling a kernel on my desktop and my laptop is on a higher shelf and I had no place to rest my wrists while typing etc...so, I know there are parts in there that I was leading up to something then got sidetracked and said screw it *clicked post*

Also, as for 'policing the world', I agree. However, if that goes too far, Hitler would have remained in power and who knows what would have happened then. But, as long as we have the UN and other countries having a say so in it, we will have this sort of 'policing the world' responsibility to keep the UN afloat, but it may not be (and in my opinion isn't) worth it. Because all they do is drive us around in circles and then ridicule us for the loop they put us in.

Republicans have Fox, Democrats have MSNBC... it seems pretty balanced to me.

Haha, I have to admit, The Simpsons has always done a great job of making fun of Fox...and Fox allowing it is even better.

Default What about CNN?????

You know what reallly pisses me off....... Liberals have so much media bias w/ networks like CNN but when conservatives have thier own media outlets like FOX News its a considered a hidden agenda from the white house. Tell how fair is that. Next time you hear someone saying FOX News is bias just think about news sources like CNN who are more biased agaisnt conservatives.

I am speaking from what I heard and it should be verified.

I believe their a Bush family member working at Fox in a position of power. That is why they are linked as being controlled by the white house.

Hasn't happened and I doubt it will...if it does, I will admit to being incorrect. Sounds like the 'vast right wing conspiracy' is at it again. (don't take offense, just poking fun at what still isn't proven)

have u noticed that since the democrats have won some power the news has suddenly taken a sharp decline in criticizing the government?

wtf? come on now.

gas prices right now are as bad (if not worse) as they were before when everyone was blaming Bush. What? you cant yell at the government if its partly the democrats fault now?

Well, I should have posted this first, as it is much funnier and proves my point more being precluded by this clip:

Well, then is it really only Fox News?: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lo-tI97bvNk

So much more could have been had from that video if the poster had also decided to cut out of context clips from that story too...like the guy who posted the vid you linked.
